We are going to be at WDW end of Feb, first week of march. Just wondering if anyone has any tips on being noticed/piced for a wish? My 2 kids would just die if we got picked!!!!
I just heard that it isn't random at all. They have it down to something exact, such as the 3rd person on a certain ride at a certain time. My kids would love to be chosen next week. I'm not even going to tell my kids about this because I don't want them expecting something to happen to them. How exciting, though.
There is nothing special you can do to be picked for a Prize as far as the Year of a Million Dreams sweepstakes goes. Those things are being randomly distributed by a computer and end up being like "the people in the blue tea cup at 1:30" kind of thing... so it is all luck of the draw.
However there are a lot of special things going on outside of the actual sweepstakes that you could partake in... For example you can ride in the front of the monorail, be the guest skipper on a Jungle Cruise Boat, things like that you can ask to do. There are also things that are considered Magic Moments like being picked to ride the Barnstormer with Goofy or Aladdin's Magic Carpets with Aladdin. The magic moments they have set up are endless, almost every attraction and gift store has some type of something set up, so you could get to be a part of something. Just be outgoing, friendly and have a good time. There is a lot going on
Just try to enjoy everything you're doing at the parks, chat with the CM's everywhere you go. We enjoy talking to them anyway.
We were walking through "Ye Old Christmas Shop" in MK Monday morning and it was quiet in there. One of the CMs asked my dd if she wanted to help decorate one of the Christmas trees, so she picked out an ornament from a basket and put it on the tree in the window (a Princess Jasmine ornament btw) and they are making a paper chain to go around the tree and they're putting each child's name on each paper link. They wrote her a little award certificate. It was very cute. DD really had no clue what it is was for, LOL!
She also got a cute "Congratulations" button with the classic Disney characters on it from a CM on the Friendship launch for answering a question (he asked which princess was not on her "princess" fanny pack)...so they are not just giving away "big" wishes but very simple little "warm and fuzzy" things!
It's really just the matter of "timing" and showing how much you're enjoying being there!
