I know this is not a favorite for many people, but my DD loves it. Any tips on avoiding a long wait ? Any fave dishes ?

You can join the Rainforest Cafe Safari Club and get a 10% discount and it gives you accelerated seating.

Join their Safari Club, the application is in the gift shop and you can sign up on the spot. I think cost is $10.00 with an immediate coupon to use, maybe for $5.00. This membership will get you to the front of the line. It has always worked for me at WDW where the wait can be 1-2 hours. They will ask on application for your birthday, etc. They always send me a coupon on birthday and on anniversary date that I signed up. They will honor the coupons even if they have expired.

Last trip, hubby and I discovered the Awesome Appetizer Platter, I think it was called. That was sufficient for both of our dinners, and we do like to eat. It had calamari, chicken fingers, hot crab dip, and something else. Great way to get full and not pay too terribly much. I think it was $13.99.

Enjoy

They also are open for breakfast seven days a week and it's pretty good. AP's get a 10% discount Monday-Thursday. Breakfast's are about $9 and they taste pretty good! Make sure you ask for a raspberry lemonade....YUM! ($3.50 each, though)

Now that Disney is only opening Riverbelle Terrace in DL a couple of days a week for breakfast, Rainforest is a good alternative. Hey, if Disney doesn't want our money, maybe Rainforest will!!

<font color=navy>Judy,

You can make Priority Seating arrangements - that has worked for us. When I took Kelly there to celebrate her birthday, they put us at the front of the line - I was really surprised and pleased. Also, if you don't go at peak times, the wait is minimal.

We've also eaten the appetizer plate there, and I really enjoyed that - it was enough for the three of us as a meal.

We like the RFC - it might be a little noisy, but is great eye-candy for the rascals. :)

We made a reservation the day before for lunch and were seated in about 10 minutes when we arrived (it was really busy). Just go up to the podium and tell them you have a reservation, and they'll take you inside to wait in the bar area. Here's the phone number: 714-772-0413

If you have a Disney Club card, it's 10 percent off your entire meal. I think it's only good for lunch, though.

I had a reservation/PS for Thanksgiving last year and we were seating within 10 mins at the most for Dinner.

get a sparkling volcano (dessert.) some people have said they don't think it is that good, but purely for having the servers all having to yell "volcano!" as they bring it out to you, it is worth it, and fun. :)

i also like the appetizer plate - we substituted cheese sticks for the calamari, though. but it was enough for 3 of us for dinner, with enough room left over for a volcano for dessert. (not a very healthy dinner, but yummy!)

what's the volcano? also...do you call RFC directly to make a priority seating reservation??

dondiego,

You should call Rainforest Cafe directly to make a reservation. I don't think Disneyland handles RFC's reservations at all.

I have had the chicken pita quesadilla, which was v. good and the bamba's barbecue wrap was v. good, too.

Have a great trip!

the volcano is a dessert. it consists of vanilla ice cream scoops placed on top of each other, with long brownie pieces stuck together with caramel to "build" the volcano and hold in the ice cream, with another brownie piece as the base of the volcano. on top is a huge amount of whipped cream. they used to add a real lit sparkler on the top, but now they stick in a plastic silver one. when they bring it out, they scream "VOLCANO!!" :)

thanks tiggeroo42 and supercarrie for the info!! I hope someone orders one while we are there or we may just have to!!!:Pinkbounc We are looking forward to visiting the RFC...we used to go to one in Denver but last time we were there it had closed.
