Hello all,

My family and I are using our points for a 5 night stay at BLT. This will be our first use of points from our DVC membership we purchased last year. We booked the trip in December for October 1 arrival, we are dying to get there, my business gets really hot in September and I'm working around the clock so I'm really looking forward to laying out at the pool for a few days.

When we setup the trip we setup the Chef Mickey breakfast plus a few other character dining experiences as well. We also plan to do the Not-So-Scary Halloween one night (I truly believe that this is the best deal for beating the crowds and the Florida heat). One day we'll do Epcot (dinner in Italy), MK (the Halloween night excursion), and the rest we'll just relax as that's what a vacation is right???

Our DVC property is Beach Club and we have a March Use Year for 180 points. The plan had 15 points from 2008 and all 2009 and 2010 when the children pulled it from the stockings last Christmas. :santa: We used the 2008 points on a one night stay at AKL on Superbowl Sunday (another relatively unknown lull in attendance). So far everyone loves it! :grouphug:

If anyone has any ideas on how to increase the fun factor while at BLT please let me know! :dance3:

Sammy Duvall's at the Contemporary has lots of great water sports. Parasailing, wake boarding, tubing and I have read they just got jet skis. Of course activities can be pricey, but my kids love doing these things. It has become something they look forward to most! Enjoy your trip. :goodvibes

I will be there on the 30th for 4 days too:dance3::dance3:
Have you ever eaten at Chief Mickey at the Contemporary? It is a breakfast or dinner buffet with the characters. It is allot of fun.
I heard that the Community hall there is really good too,

I am doing a split stay between Beach Club and BLT. Have fun:banana:

Here are some things we enjoyed last time.

-Go to the Top of the World lounge for snacks and drinks. We just love hanging out up there.
-If you are an early riser, get up and go out to the beach and watch the sun rise.
-On the flip side, watch the sun set over the lagoon behind the grand floridian.
-Pool hop to the Poly or GF
-Eat dinner at the Wave. It has fresh food and a relaxed atmosphere. Many times you can get a last minute reservation.
-Check out the community hall for daily activities...fun stuff for the kiddos(and adults)
-Hang out at both BLT pool and Cont pool. My kids enjoyed both for different things. Also, at Cont pool you can dig in the sand right there.
-Take the monorail to check out the poly and GF
-Many nights they also had movies on the lawn between the Cont and BLT.

Enjoy! I am sure you will have a good time. We loved the location and access to a lot of different things when we were there last time.

We just came back from a week at BLT with a MK view & we love it!
I suggest checking out the nightly outdoor movies, which are between the Contemorary & BLT. You actually can watch & hear from the sky bridge. http://www.buildabettermousetrip.com/activity-outdoormovie.php Check this site when you get closer to the trip.
We love being on the Monorail line too. If you don't have a MK view, you can view fireworks from an elevator lobby on a higher floor.
Have fun!
