Any thoughts on crowds this coming week?

Hi all! I have to get in my last "obsessing" about trying to predict crowd levels for our trip...we'll be in the parks Sun-Tues (12-14th). We are prepared for crowds...not that we've ever experienced Christmas break crowds, but we were hoping we were going before everyone is on break...but then someone mentioned on another thread that some California schools have 3 weeks for vacation, and has me a little concerned. :confused3

Regardless, we are SUPER excited and will have a wonderful time, just curious for planning sake if any of you have thoughts on this next week? I know touring plans may or may not be as accurate (heard both) but, it shows Sunday a 5 out of 10, Monday 3/10, and Tuesday 2/10 (since they close early those 2 days). Do you think that's unrealistic?

Thanks all for listening to be ramblings!:)

From someone who is going to be there at the same time you are (well, I leave on the 15th and not the 14th)...don't worry about the crowds!!:goodvibes No more obsessing or trying to predict!!:rotfl2: There's not a thing we can do about it either way - we can't make it uncrowded and we can't stop the crowds from being there. Are you able to suddenly change your dates and go at another time? If so,then maybe predicting crowds will be effective. Otherwise, if you can't change the dates, then don't worry about it. If it makes you more prepared, just go in expecting huge, massive crowds in your mind. And then anything else that falls short of that will be a relief.

We can only make the best of the time we have there, be grateful that we are going and give ourselves over to fate - and have FUN!

Chances are, on Monday and Tuesday the daytime crowds will be reasonable because those are the CM party nights. Sunday will probably be very crowded. I don't think that can be avoided.

Sherry is the calmning voice of reason here. I, too, shall be there this week and am only moderatly concerned about crowds. I think Monday and Tuesday will be good but after that I'm predicting the crowds to steadly increase everyday. But like Sherry said, there isn't much we can do about it now. It's Disney, it's Christmas, the rest is whatever it is. Have a great time!

Yes, I agree..thank you both. It's definitely not going to change anything...it's probably just my planning for months for this trip that has me in a frenzy!:) Like I said, we are so very excited and will definitely have a "magical" time either way!

Well not to be a 'debbie downer' but it is going to be FABULOUS WEATHER :sunny: this coming weekend (Dec 10-12) so I am predicting CROWDS.

DH & I go often and usually day trips but he has Monday off and last month we decided to hit up the LAND :mickeyjum for a few days staying overnight.

Well I have been keeping a watchful eye on the weather figuring we would probably cancel if it was going to the least bit inclement.

OH MY WORD, SoCal is going to be VERY warm!!! :sunny:

WE ARE GOING AND GOING TO LOVE IT!!! :mickeyjum GOING EARLY AND STAYING LATE!!! :mickeyjum

I  you, Southern California! :woohoo:

We'll be there Monday - Wednesday, same as last year. I thought it was so nice and manageable. Then a friend brought up a great point, we'll be there without kids..so we can go at our speed...fast and efficient (impossible with a3 & 5 year old). Regardless it will be a wonderful trip, even with the CM parties. Though I'm the odd man out and not looking foward to this "beautiful" weather. I have to say, I love wearing long sleeves in DL. Now I have to rethink my whole wardrobe. Oh well. ;)

Were flying in on Saturday morning. Ive been having trouble trying to decide when to go to Fantasmic since APs are blocked on Saturdays, but then touringplans.com is forecasting much larger crowds on Saturday than Sunday. So hard to tell which one would be easier to watch, plus my little guy is used to preschool hours, so keeping him up until 9pm will be a challenge as is.

I think Monday and Tuesday will be light crowds, so well leave WOC til then, though who knows with the mass of DL coming over, so hard to predict anything.

I really don't agree about the nice weather. I dont do well in 80 degrees, I was hoping to come to mid-60's. One of the reasons I prefer DL to WDW is the cooler weather. I guess well just take a break mid-day and hang out at the pool during the worst of it.

We too are hoping for lower crowds this week. We start the drive tomorrow and will check in on Sunday. It would be nice if the crowds were lower as school is still in session.
