Is there a rule somewhere that teachers are not allowed to ask a perent out on a date?

Not in my district. One of my friends married an older man she met when he was picking his DD up at cheerleading practice. He was separated at the time. But he asked her out, not vice versa. And it eventually got a little messy; his ex (who initiated the separation) is a teacher in another building and has made my friend out to be Jezebel, even though she's been living with her own BF for 3 years (won't get married or she'll lose her alimony).

Not in our district either, but they might be concerned about being accused of harassment due to the connection through the child. In this day and age, you just about can't be too careful. There are a lot of people out there just looking for a reason to complain about teachers.

Not in my school. One of the female teachers started dating a parent of an student last year. I suppose b/c his child in 6th grade and she teaches 2nd grade, it doesn't make much of a difference. There's no conflict of interest. I'd guess they hooked up b/c their children are best friends.

I don't know, but during Back to School night this year, one parent asked out one of the teachers on my grade level team.
