I love sweet tea.....especially from Cracker Barrel....so I am looking for a good southern recipe. I need to stay away from caffiene....so I have been trying to make my own....not much luck though. For some reason my tea always turns out bitter. Maybe I am leaving the tea bags in too long?? It doesn't taste anything like the kind I get at Cracker Barrel!! Any particular brand I should use? Please post your sweet tea recipes!! Thanks!!
I thought I grew up with southern sweet tea, but it was only 1 cup per 2 quarts...
My mom always did hers on the stove in a pan, now all we use is Lipton Cold Brew bags. You just add the tea bags and cold water and in about 10-20 minutes (depending on how strong you want it), you have great sweet tea. It is just as good, if not better than the old way we used to do it. I am not sure if they have decaf. Also, when we add sugar, we only use 1 cup to about 2 quarts like the pp, I can't imagine 3 cups!!
