Any Suggestions????

Hey all again! Ok...so our money for our Disneymoon to the AKL is due in 37 days! We have an issue!!!! My fiance was laid off recently and we still owe $2000. The money is due June 22nd and they are having a bridal shower for us at church on June 18th. That way, if we absolutely have to downgrade our room or something we can. But we would REALLY like to keep the whole plan as is . I am currently working full-time at the front desk for a motel, doing secret shopping and merchandising on the side for a little extra, trying to get enough clicks on my wedding journal blog to get a check from Google Adsense, and trying to sell cheap magazine subscriptions that apparently nobody wants . Do you all have any suggestions as to how to come up with the money in time??? I would be greatful for ANYTHING!!! Thanks!

Not to sound cheesy but maybe you could ask your guests at the bridal shower for a card shower?? You might have already thought of that. I will keep my fingers crossed for you and you will really enjoy AKL as I sure did!!

Charge it? And pay off the minimuns each month until you have enough money to pay off the whole honeymoon?

I know you do not want to change your plans, but maybe you could spend a couple nights at AKL and the rest of your honeymoon at a cheaper resort. Then maybe you won't be as stressed out about coming up with the extra money.

Wow--I'm trying to figure out what sort of free time you could possibly have...it doesn't sound like you have much! although maybe your fiance does? Can he get a job doing bartending or catering--something with great tips? Right now is a busy time for catering with all the graduations and showers and weddings...he might be able to find some temp work. Otherwise, maybe lawn cutting? OR can you do a garage sale? Think about the stuff that the two of you might be getting replacements from your shower and go through your closets, basements, etc...if you really clean house you might find you can make a couple of hundred in a garage sale. I put out miscellaneous junk last weekend and came out with $60 from selling about 15 things...you should do a lot better if you really clean house and maybe sell some hot dogs and pops at the same time...just some stream of thoughts ideas...

cat sit/dog sit/baby sit

get a paper route. i know a businessman who gets up at 4am every morning to deliver papers. he's 30 years old! but he makes a nice chunk of extra money that way. and it's not like selling subscriptions -- you don't have to drum up business. these people already BOUGHT the paper! you're just getting paid and tips -- to deliver it.

have a bake sale ? if you make brownies, I'll come to your bakesale

take out a bank loan? is there a family member who would loan you the money?

i'll keep thinking. if you scrape and save, you'll be able to come up with $2k i bet! YOU CAN DO IT

but also think about changing your plans. you've got the whole magic kingdom in your hands -- who cares what room you're in. How much time do you really spend in your room anyway? I love Dixie Landings/Port Orleans the best and ABHORED the thought of All Star Movies. but one year my DF and I were really broke so we slummed it in All Stars and it was totally fine! every corner of disney is magical
