I know this is about camping in Disney, but I figured I could get some good suggestions out of ya!! We're headed to TN in June and I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions for campgrounds.

We're going to be in Nashville for 4 days (CMA Festival), Memphis for 2 days (Graceland), and Pigeon Forge for 2 days (I'm going to Dollywood!!! HAHA).

We're thinking of staying at the KOA in Nashville, Graceland RV Park in Memphis, and as of now we have no idea where to stay near Dollywood!! Do you guys know if any those places are nice?? Any suggestions for campgrounds in any or all of those three places are much appreciated!!

We have stayed at the Jellystone Park and the Two Rivers Campground in Nashville. I like the Jellystone because all the lots are pull through and they are bigger. We will be staying there on our trip down and back to FW in April. I found the lots at Two Rivers to be crowded and they only had limited pull through sites. Both are highly rated parks by Trailer Life.

We live 30 miles from Koa nice place, stayed there and I would not hesitate to stay there again. EVERYONE I know stays at Riveredge Rv Park in Pigeon Forge, been there once, very nice and clean. Check out the new bathhouse {WOW}. It is the last left turn before the long road to Gatlinburg. SO DO NOT MISS IT. Hope this helps...Also AAA has discounts for Dollywood....

Pigeon Forge Campgrounds to check out in no particular order:

River Plantation
Rivers Edge
Twin Islands
Kings Holly Haven
Claboughs
Creekside
Brookside (Staying here Easter Weekend)

Bear Cove RV - only 1 mile from Dollywood (not opening until May 2008)

Take a look at Creekside RV park. It is a clean place, with a trolley stop. We really like the Gaitlinburg area. It is "down home" and fun in a relaxing sort of way. Also, Dollywood is just too much fun! It used to be a Silver Dollar City, so if you are familiar, it hasn't changed much. Make sure you try one of the skillet meals~delicious!

We've been to both Nashville and Memphis, but never camped at either.:confused3

Thanks so much for the replies!! I'm going to check out all of your suggestions and I'll let ya know what we decide on!!

If you are coming to Nashville during the CMA Fest make reservations now. Any of the campgrounds near the Opryland area (KOA, Jellystone or Two Rivers) will fit the bill. Two Rivers is nice and quite a bit cheaper than the other two. If you don't require a sewer hookup, Seven Points COE on Percy Priest Lake is very convenient to Nashville and is probably the nicest campground in the metro area. It does book up quickly however. Check it out on recreation.gov.

:goodvibes rivers edge is very nice full hookups & cable and the nices bathrooms i've seen (sorry disney):cool1: you would not be disapointed., look them up at STAYRIVEREDGE have fun:woohoo:

We have stayed at Two Rivers in Nashville. It was ok. It is located by the KOA. If you have children the Jellystone will be better. We are going to try that one out next time we pass through. It is in the same location as the other two. It is very close to the Opry Mills Mall!
In Pigeon Forge, we have stayed at Claboughs. It was fine for the Fall, but in the summer you will want to stay somewhere with a nice pool. Check out mypigeonforge.com, they have links to some of the campgrounds in that area. I love the Smokies and Dollywood! This year we are going on our first trip to WDW and the Fort! Have a great time in TN!!!

we really like going to the tva. that is the tennessee valley authority. we got water and electic at our site. i can't remember how much. but just google search. it is just the kind of camping we prefer. the campground we've stayed at isn't packed on top of each other, etc.:cool2:

I have a link to riversedge and others here I have others listed as well. If you have any websites or info to add to my list PM, I would appreciate it.

John

You can also go to the Campgrounds thread of rv.net and post your question there.

We are going to camp in the Gatlinburg area this comeing June. I made reservations here: http://www.greatsmokyjellystone.com/

All reviews I could find from various camping forums gave this place a very favorable rating.

I look forward to June to spend a week here.
