Any suggestions for BLT?

Any recommendations for our first trip as DVC members?

Last yr was our first family trip to Disney (DH and I had been once before as adults) and we stayed at the Poly and went the last week of Sept. which was hot and crowded....

I am trying to decide between the week of Thanksgiving, the week before Christmas or the week after including NYE.

Anyone with experience during these times have any recs. It would be hard to push DHs chair and keep up with a 5 yr old in major crowds. I am guessing this excludes the week including NYE?

We are in the process of buying in at BLT with 160 points.

I will only caution you that if you are planning on traveling in 2010 that the booking window for your timeframes is already well under way, and you may have a difficult time getting dates. Since you are in the process of buying, something to consider would be to ask your Guide to get your reservation booked as part of your "deal." Sometimes it works, sometimes not. With that said, the least crowded of your list is going to be the week before Christmas, but the crowds will steadily increase as it gets closer to Christmas Day. The week between Christmas and NYE is going to be a nightmare...period. I would only recommend that week to someone who has been to Disney multiple times and knows how to navigate the parks and knows her family's must-dos (there's no way that you're going to be able to fit everything in due to the crowds). My fear for a newbie wanting to go that week is them trying to do too much and getting overly exhausted (and it sounds like you are going to be pulling double duty anyway). Thanksgiving will likewise be very crowded. Either way, I wish you the best of luck. We are actually staying at BLT from December 18-January 1, so we might run into each other at the pools or the lounge.

I actually went ahead and booked for the week of Thanksgiving. I had no issue getting two studios. Now if we switch to NYE that will have to be done tomorrow and no guarantee!
