Any speculation on the length of the current incentive?

My guide told me in a phone message last week that it wouldn't be pulled right away since the marketing just went out and it will need a little time to "penetrate." Wonder how long that means?

Acting sooner rather than later is best I suppose... we're going to WDW in Feb and while we wouldn't use points (trip already paid for) it would be nice to get the AP discount.

Problem is dh isn't really onboard.. I keep thinking if I can get him to tour... but I doubt the incentive will still be around in February.

The other day I told him about the promotion and said we should consider buying in and he looked at me like I had two heads.

I can't say that the incentive will or will not be around, because I am not sure. What I will tell you is my husband thought that I had 2 heads too until we toured. He bought on the spot. He had no questions about the cost savings. We go to Disney at least once a year. With this we can do it more or less it is up to us. It is wondersful. Good luck with your DH.

This promotion will be followed by a 5% price increase followed shortly thereafter by a 20% discount incentive (you'll need a referral from a DVC sales "guide"). Seriously, SSR net price hasn't changed much over time. They like to get the fear of God in you with the expiration but I think most realize by now that this deal will be followed by another similar, if not better, deal.

If you have never stayed at DVC you probably won't know any difference! It took just one stay at DVC this past summer to convince us! We just had to wait for the right price, which was now!
We always stayed at the moderates before. Although they are very nice, they do not compare to DVC. It wasn't hard to talk my DH into it after staying there!

DH is seriously considering, especially with the current promotion. Every time I think he has ruled it out he surprises me by saying he's still considering it. We have never stayed on property and have only actually been to WDW once in our adult lives with kids, which was this past May. So it seems silly to plan to go often for the next 5O years when we don't even know what it's like. We have been bitten by the WDW bug though, because we are headed back in Feb. DH says he really wants to try it out first, but we both worry that the promotion will end and I don't want to waste the money renting points, that we could be putting towards the purchase, not to mention the added perk of discounted APs.

Talking to our guide about the last promotion they ran - the guides seem to hear about the promotions ending about a week before they actually end. So you may have about a weeks notice. I'd say - get a refferal started - get a guide on board - and then wait on the fence as long as you can and see if the guide will keep you informed if they tell him/her that the promotion is about to end. I think with this promotion you have to get the referral before you contact DVC.
It's very possible there will be an even better deal after this one - or none at all! Who knows! But if you have the referal and the guide you're still not committed to anything until you sign on the dotted line and you may get the heads up you need! Good luck!

That is exactly what DW and I are doing. We have called our friends guide and he has said he will keep us informed on the status of the incentive. He said he has a list of people to keep informed. We are in the process of closing on a new house (and selling our condo) and want to get that all done before we take the plunge.

Thanks guys! I owe my guide a call since we have only exchanged (very long) voice mails up to now regarding the current incentive.

But in the meantime maybe I'll take another whack at dh tonight...
