I've used a Disney gift card to pay for the DDP and annual passes in the past. My nephew's school sells gift cards as a fundraiser so I always buy the Disney ones from him.

I'm in the same situation.....driving from PA to FL so I hear ya! We were just trying to do the budget tonight for gas. We estimated $3.75/gal. I really hope it's not that high, but it is currently $3.60/gal here now.

It's about the same here in Northwest Ohio. My DSIL says he's heard it may be over $4.00/gal by mid summer. Yikes! I hope not.

I think I'm going to call my guide tomorrow and ask about the GC. Others on threads have said they bought AKV and got the GC. Granted, they didn't say they actually had it in hand, that it was what their guide told them.

I'd like to add on 25 pts at SSR and 75 at AKV - I wonder if they'll let me do that. And if so, would I still qualify for the incentives for buying 100 points.

We went to Doorway to Dreams at Woodfield Mall on Sat. We were not offered the $500 for AKV, only for SSR. But with AKV, you don't pay dues til it opens, expected 5/09, so that's more than a $500 incentive, and you get the developer points for SSR. The develper points can't be banked like the 2007 use year points you get with SSR can, but we could aim for a trip in the spring or rent them out. AKV will cost $2/point more, but when you're already spending more than $16k, what's an extra $320?

We were planning on going with SSR so we could bank the points since we're planning on treating my parents in 2 yrs, and DH's family in 3 years, but I think I've decided on AKV now. Since it's the only one with 2 bathrooms in a 1BR unit and it has both a pull out couch and a pull out chair, it would really be the best option for us. DD#2 thrashes horribly in her sleep and needs her own bed. I don't want to end up having to get a 2 BR all the time for just the 4 of us, and nobody should have to sleep on the floor anymore after buying DVC! I'm glad we didn't commit to SSR that day. We were there til almost 9pm, and told them we'd call back Mon. morning with our decision. I guess it's AKV!
