Any specials on points going on

I bought a 100 point add-on this morning. Got the $10 off per point, 100 2007 points, & the $500 gift card. Within 2 hours, I had the new points in my account and my November trip booked! :thumbsup2

ETA: This is an SSR add-on

What is the difference between Jambo House and Kidani as far as usage? If you buy into Jambo, do you have the 11 mo. booking priv. at Kidani? Are the points the same price at both? I guess what I'm asking is, if the bonus points are good for use anywhere if you buy at Jambo, why wouldn't you buy there? Our salesrep at wdw said the Kidani bonus pts. were only good at SSR & only for 12 months. Of course he also said that "we had to buy in before we got home or the incentives went away"...? Was this a high pressure pitch or fact? This was last Sunday (4/13/08) and we did not buy in...yet.

As far as using the points down the road it doesn't matter. But during the first year it matters. Kidani is not open for reservations. So they are giving you SSR developer points. The one advantage to that is that you do not pay dues on the SSR developer points. With the Jambo House points you start paying dues right away. The other issue is that not all use years have Jambo House points left for sale. We bought Jambo House points. I hate to say it, but we were staying at SSR for the first time last week and we are not too excited about staying there again.

Does anyone know which UY months are left to be purchased in Jambo? We are from Canada and would need to fly down to purchase before our Christmas trip. It would cost us $1200 to get down just to get our DVC so it needs to be worth the trip. To all you experts, is it a better idea for us to travel to Disneyland instead to buy DVC because the flights are cheaper and I hear that you also get two AP. HELP!

Isnt there a DVC sales place in some mall or something, like in Minnesota... Do some research, you can buy there and save some money on a shorter flight.

so whats the deal with the $500 GC, not everyone is getting.. Is it only for referals?

And those that are getting it, can you use it as part of the down payment?

I'm not sure why some got and some did not. I did not ask about it, but my guide included it in his incentive spiel. He said I would receive it in a few months, after closing is complete.

It cannot be used for a down payment, but you can use it toward paying your dues (per my guide's suggestion).

I did not buy my recent points via referral, so that's not the case.

I'd be interested in knowing this as well.

Atleast you can use it for the dues... Thats a couple good months worth of dues being paid off atleast.

We didn't get it. But that is because we bought at AKV. Our guide said it was pnly available for SSR sales.

So if I add-on 100 points at SSR, I get 100/2007 points, 100/2008 points, I pay $9400 and get a $500 gift card? I have a June use year.

Does that sound correct? And I thought I already had enough points :)

Thanks,

That's exactly what I did and exactly what I got. I have a Sept UY.

I wonder if you could have said, I wont buy it without the $500 GC? I might test that when we go down in June... My wife really wants to buy directly from Disney

Hey Tina, just saw you were a fellow Northern VA person... Nice to see some other people from our area on here

We just added on 100 points this afternoon and that's what our guide told us. He stated that we will receive the gift card as soon as we sign and return the paperwork. Great idea to use this towards dues payments. I'm also wondering if it can be used to pay for DDP?

I've used a Disney gift card to pay for the DDP and annual passes in the past. My nephew's school sells gift cards as a fundraiser so I always buy the Disney ones from him.

I'm discussing adding on with my DH. I'd like to present him with as much info. as possible before he calls our guide. We currently have 160 pts. at SSR with a Dec. UY. We financed those. If we were to add-on another 100 pts. and finance those, does anyone know the approximate closing costs? Thanks!:goodvibes

I just did a 100 point add-on at SSR on a 10 year contract (for now, until I move it to something with lower interest). After the $10 per point discount and the 10% downpayment of $1,040, my payments will be $113 per month with about $35 in dues.

Short answer - your closing costs should be zero if you add on through Disney and utilize their finance options. However, I think they are like 10.75% There are better options depending on your own situation.

Thanks Tina & Culli for the fast responses!! That's helpful to know!
