yes there are. At SSR you get bonus points $8 off per point and a $500 Disney gift card. AKV has the same but I believe without the bonus points.

We were told yesterday at Epcot that it was either $10 off at SSR or $8 at AK, plus a $500.00 gift card.

I bought into the DVC last week. The incentives were:

1600.00 for SSR plus 500.00 gift card

500.00 gift card only for AK.

I choose SSR and was very pleased with the process and the value.

This is getting weird. Every time I read a post I see a different offer. We just bought more points on Friday at the DCV center in SSR. Here are the offers we were given:

SSR - $10 off and use of 2008 points plus a $500 gift card (dues start right away)
AKV (Jambo House) - $8 off and use of 2008 points (dues start right away) OR no money off and extra developer points to be used in a year (old type of developer points)
AKV (Kidani Village) - $8 off with no AKV points for 2008, but SSR developer points to be used in a year (no dues until May 2009)

NOTE: Some use years still have Jambo House points available. They did for our February use year.

I guess what I'm asking is, if the bonus points are good for use anywhere if you buy at Jambo, why wouldn't you buy there? Our salesrep at wdw said the Kidani bonus pts. were only good at SSR & only for 12 months. Of course he also said that "we had to buy in before we got home or the incentives went away"...? Was this a high pressure pitch or fact? This was last Sunday (4/13/08) and we did not buy in...yet.

Kidani Village and Jambo House are just two sections of AKV. There is only one AKV and all AKV points are the same. It won't matter if your unit is located in Kidani or Jambo as far as usage goes once your Kidani village unit is available for occupancy. The only diference is a short term difference -- the units in Jambo are all available to be booked whereas the estimated occupancy date for Kidani units is now May 1, 2009.

I bought 200 points in AKV yesterday and here is what I was told I got:

200 normal points on June 1st 2008 (June Use Year)
200 developer points immediately good for 1 year, only good at SSR or International
$8 off, so $96 per point
No dues until the Kidani Village opens next April or May

I wasn't told about a $500 gift card, but the developer points and the delay of dues add up to a lot!
