My husband and I are taking our first DVC trip in January and staying at VWL (our home resort). We are taking the whole family (my inlaws) and getting a 2 BR villa. In reading these posts I'm wondering if there are any type of special views or requests that I should put on my reservation (or if that's even allowed).

Since I've only been married for a few months and this is my first trip with my inlaws, I want it to be a good one! :smooth: Any suggestions would be helpful.

Also- does anyone know if the character breakfast is still available at Artist Point?

I believe the views are either woodsy or pool, so if you want to be able to see the pool from your room, you might mention that. And they've stopped the character breakfast at Artist Point, which is a disappointment. But breakfast at the Whispering Canyon Cafe can be rowdy and fun. Enjoy your trip!!!

We had a dedicated 2 bdr. at VWL in May- room 4552. We had a view of the woods and the room was very clean. You'll love it!!

The vast majority of views at VWL are of the woods. A small percentage overlook the quiet pool with a glimpse of Bay Lake as well. We had a view of the woods and enjoyed it completely.

As for requests, I always start with non-smoking. After that, you can ask for close to the elevators, or quiet pool view, or upper floors or first floor (depending on your preference). We ask for upper floors, close to elevator (after the non-smoking requirement).

If it's important, you can also request a non-handicapped access room which some people really want to avoid.

Have a great trip.

We had room 2519, a dedicated 2 br. The view was fabulous. We were in a studio before the rest of our family came down to Disney. When walking around the villas we joked that we would love that room for our 2 br! I think the Disney fairies must have heard us.... It is a corner 2 br with a view of the lake and pool and main lodge. We could see the end of the water pagent at night. I assume the room layout in the corner units are somewhat different, but it was our first stay and we loved it. There was only one balcony off of the livingroom, but again I am not sure how the others are set up. I would love to be in that unit again, but I do not want to request a specific room number. I think the chance would be slim of getting it. Personally we love the lodge and any room and view would be great. Anyway you look at it, you are at Disney World!!!!!

We were in #4511 in June. Overlooking the pool with a view of the lake. We loved it
