Any Special events take place during Thanksgiving?

My family and I are planning a trip to celebrate Thanksgiving and my hubby's 30th b-day. This is only our second time visiting and we want to make the most of everything! Any special events occur during this time? Thanks for the help! I cna't wait!

I think they might have special meals on Thanksgiving, and the Christmas decorations go up the next day. Oh, and Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party will be going on then.

Thanks for the reply! I was hoping for maybe a special Thanksgiving parade or something...we're leaving Thanksgiving Day so we won't actually get to see the decorations afterwards. Tell me about the Mickey Christmas Party ...I'm still learning the ropes!

MANY ( if not all) of the Christmas decorations will be up before you leave! We've gone the week before or the week of Thanksgiving for a few years now and there are plenty of decorations in place, and some being installed (watching the gingerbread carousel being put together in the BC lobby is really cool!!

FYI...MVMCP will not be going on Thanksgiving week; only the week before and the week after.

By the week before Thanksgiving there will be lots of Christmas decorations up, and special Christmas parades will replace the usual ones at MGM and Epcot. The Festival of Lights (I think I have the name right) will be held nightly at MGM, with snow! There will be 3 MVMCPs the week BEFORE Thanksgiving week. Epcot festivities don't start until the day after Thanksgiving, so you'll miss them. We are going the Friday before (to catch MVMCP!) and leaving on Thanksgiving day, too.
