I'm thinking of going by myself the end of Nov, beginning of Dec and I'd like to stay in a moderate resort. I've stayed at POFQ a few times and the POR, the CBR does not interest me. I know that the CSR is big, but I've looked at the pictures and it looks very nice.
Is this a good resort for a solo, or should I stick with the POFQ or even a value?

i have got cheap over the last few years so Pop Century gets my vote.

I have visited CSR and eaten there.

It is a very wonderful resort. although the food court is more expensive and better than the other moderates...

the only food court where I got steak one day - then came back a couple of days later and got roast beef.....in the food court....
:woohoo: :stir: :drinking:

I have been to CSR 3 times solo :goodvibes I have also been to POR and POFQ but CSR is my fave. I think this resort is beautiful, and love to wander around. I have found that since there are always conventioners here, I have often had someone who is also there solo, but on "business" , strike up a conversation with me.One trip I was just relaxing on a bench with my margurita ;) and a woman who was waiting for her dh to be finished his seminar sat down and we had a great conversation together. I don't feel out of place in their foodcourt or restaurant as much as at some resorts, either. I have stayed in both the Casitas and Cabanas as they are closer to check-in etc. I have found bus service to be very good.Oh....I can hardly wait to return in Oct :thumbsup2

I stayed there this past December on my solo B-day trip and loved :thumbsup2 it. In fact I loved it so much we're staying there for our spring break trip with my kids.

I made sure to ask for a room close to a bus top so I didn't feel uncomfortable when I would return late from a park or PI.

One tip - the mousekeepers always partially opened the curtains and a few times I'd coming dashing into the room for a quick change of clothes before a meal and not realize they were partially open - so remember to pull them shut before you get undress - hope I didn't :scared1: any unsuspecting passers by :rotfl2:

I'm staying there solo in 17 days!!! I can't wait! I've stayed at CBR and POR, so i'm working my way through the moderates!!

I think you've all sold me (wow that was tough). I have not even gone on my trip in May yet, and I'm already planning another trip in November/December.
I love going solo, this will be my third solo trip, and I just want to try a different resort without being over-whelmed

I have stayed twice at Coronado Springs on solo trips the past two years. I thought it had a really nice ambience - very grown up feel, but still appealing to kids in the Disney spirit. I was made to feel welcome there, and was even upgraded to water view during my first visit. I stayed in the cabanas area which I thought was very attractive and convenient. The buses were fine there and I never had to wait very long. Thought the food court was adequate for what I needed. I enjoy walking and the stroll around the lake was very pleasant. I am trying POR this April just for something different; not because I felt there was anything wrong with CSR. I hope I am equally satisfied. :cool1: Gail

I have always liked CSR although I haven't been able to book it when I was in the market for a moderate.

There's plenty of areas near bus stops (the resort has 4), which I think is important for a solo traveler, especially one who stays late at PI.

If you like pools, CSR has a great one!

I stayed at CSR three times as a solo. I think the rooms are the nicest moderates around, as I always had a room in great shape. First two times I was in the Casitas (once 4th floor Building 3, once 2nd floor Building 4). The third time I was staying there, once again they tried to put me in the Casitas. I begged for anything else (just to get some variety), and finally they found me a room in the Ranchos. Most people hate the Ranchos, but I loved them! Very scenic and quiet, and easy walk to the Bus Stop. :)

In my opinion, the only small negative about CSR as a solo is the Pepper Market food court. I am not a spicy/fancy food eater, and CSR did not have alot of "plain" food. Also, the Pepper Market is sort of like a table serve restaurant, where they seat you and you have to pay a gratuity. Problem with this was I had my table cleared once when I went to get a fork. :( The servers thought I was done eating, so they started cleaning up my table. Now I learned to always leave something of mine on the table - usually a hat or maps - something!

But overall, CSR is a great place, and has the best main pool, in my opinion! Great place for solos. :)
