Does anyone have any updates about SOG?? Thinking about end of october next year. Thanks!

Hello There!!!
First, I have to say, we absolutely looooove the SOG. Being in the military sure does have its perks! LOL I have a brochure and a letter from SOG that says that they will break ground in May of 2002 and will be reopening in September of 2003. But, when I called again to find out availability for a trip for next year, the reservationist had said they would be opening in time for Christmas. And I am sure that the way the construction field goes, their schedule will be extended. But, SOG could suprise us all and open right on time. During their renovations, SOG has reserved one of the entire garden wings at the Contemporary and you pay the same price as you would on the sliding scale at SOG, except you pay the 11% tax. Which, for us is about 97.00 a night, and to be staying at a monorail resort, thats not bad. They will still even have the SOG ticket sales office onsite at the Contemporary too. I hope I helped. We are anxiosly awaiting our next trip in November/December. Have fun!!!

I can second this, I called Friday to change my dates for Jun 2003 and while on the phone I asked how the construction was going. The reservationist told me that they just announced the re-opening would be mid Dec 2003. Let's hope that this is a schedule they can stick with.

We were sooo thrilled with being displaced to the contemporary-we think we might be disappointed going back to SOG! I know that doesn't sound too nice, but we LOVED the contemporary-such a great location! And all the Disney stuff that SOG doesn't have. Both are nice-but what a treat to stay at the contemp for $100 a night!:)
