My DS (5) and I are going during this time for our second magical trip to WDW. Last year we stayed at a value resort but I HATED the cafeteria... it never failed... he wanted something in one line, I wanted something else... he wasn't old enough to order on his own etc... and let's face it, that food grows old on you after a few days!

This year, we are staying at POFQ because of all the wonderful things I've read on this board. It's smaller, great slide for DS's age, a short walk to the sit down restaurant in POR and the ease of getting to Downtown Disney for a change of pace (restaurant pace that is...).

Anyway, I'd love to hook up with other single or solo parents with children around the same age that may enjoy allowing the kids to experience Disney together. Just a thought.... Anyone?

sorry - I can't help with meeting up, as we aren't travelling at the same time, but I can suggest that you don't need to eat at the food court. We have stayed onsite loads of times, and eat in the food court very very rarely. We usually eat in a park, or at downtown disney - I would even choose to order a pizza in the room before I would go to the food court -not that there is anything wrong with the food, but i'd prefer to eat other stuff and there are plenty of better choices available all over WDW.

Sorry I can't help on the meet-up as my DD and I just returned about 2 weeks ago. However, I did want to say I think this is a great idea and wish I'd thought of it for our trip. I wouldn't have wanted to spend all the time with soneone else but I know my DD would have liked to have other kids to hang out with for more than the 15-20 minutes that happened at the water play areas of the parks.

Good luck with your quest.

Like you said... wouldn't want to be with someone 24/7 but gosh these kids can bond with anyone can't they?

Your daughter is stunning! I'm in awe of your sewing abilities!

Kimmielee-
Hi- I'm a single mom- but I will be going down with my brother and my niece will be there for 4 days. My DD is 6 & we'll be staying at ASMov from 10-30 to 11-7. Maybe we can try to meet for a couple of hours later on in the week. It's getting closer!!

Donkeysleuth! How fun would that be? We have PS for Crystal Palace at 5:15 on 10/31. Sounds like we'll be there at the same time. Are you dressing up? My son will be Capt. Hook, but I'm not sure if I'm sending my "Mrs. Potts" costume ahead of me or not.... Now that I think of it.... we probably won't be dressed when we have dinner...

Let's figure out a way to say hi that night!:Pinkbounc

I am a single mom with a practically 13 yo daughter.

We will be there 10/29-11/1. Maybe we will see each other in the food court or at the pool? My daughter is already 5 feet tall and has big, bushy, naturally curly brown hair that she thinks is a curse and I wish I had. :p

If you see us, please say Hi! I answer to "Kathy" if you wanna holler it out. I will freak people out by randomly asking them if they are "Kimmie"! :earseek:

We will also be a MNSSHP on 10/31. We have 5:15pm PS at LTT but then will be at the DIS meet at the Haunted Mansion at 7:30pm. Hope to see you there!

:wave2:
