We will be in Disney from May 14-18th. My SINGLE 23yr old brother will be going with us. I am looking to set him up on a date while we are there. I hate for him to be stuck with us all the time ... we are 30 and have a 3 yr old so we can be pretty boring.

Any going around that time and would like to go on a date???

I am sorry but I agree with the OP. If there is someone out there interested and willing, go for it. I paid for an extra person on an entire vacation just so my son would not have to be alone with me and my friend who thought that vacationing at AKL meant that we were in Africa on a safari and did not need to go to parks. . .my son had a friend who had fun and I got to relax at the resort. The only thing missing from AKL/AKV is a spa. . .DISNEY are you listening?

your situation is different. your son had a FRIEND. the OP is asking for a complete stranger...

I have a feeling this will end with someone in a bathtub with their kidney removed.

LOL!!! :lmao:

Thanks for giving me a good laugh this afternoon. The end of the day doesn't seem quite so far away now.

Maybe Darcy remembers this, there was something similar a few years ago, someone named Uncle Bob, perhaps? Whatever the name, someone was trying to arrange a date for their uncle. The thread went on for several weeks, with chats and q&a's.

And that was the last that was heard of from that.....

People meet complete strangers off the internet all the time-- eharmony, match, plentyoffish.... how is this any different? At least you can meet somewhere with tons of people, something fun to do... its not really that odd.

Yep, I remember that one well. That is why this one made me laugh too. Hey, if it works. . .lol.

LOL.. call it a mini dismeet instead of a date and no one will have a problem with it..:thumbsup2

I'm curious, does your brother know that you are trying to get him a date.

Haha no he doesn't but he wouldn't object.

He had a serious girlfriend for 5 years and she broke his heart about 6 months ago. He was going to propose to her. Both of them went to disney with us in 2009 and he is having a hard time wanting to go back since he says he will be reminded of her while we are there. SO just trying to make the trip a little more interesting.

does he avoid every other place that he ever went with her ?/

maybe a dismeet would be better, maybe even a guy to just pal around with, rather than a girl to remind him of the ex..

if he is still that hung up on her, he shouldn't be dating

what is your plan if he doesn't have a "date" for this vacation...

He is very outgoing-- I'm sure if we walk around epcot long enough he'll find someone to talk to or he'll buy someone a drink. I just thought he would get a kick out of going and then me suprising him with a date... and it doesn't have to be a "date" ... its not like he is looking for anything serious.

Oh good. So you're telling me that your brother will be pining away for another woman while on said date. Mmmmm...not exactly making this sound very tempting, are you?! :rotfl:

You could be doing a better job of selling this Pumpkin, for your brother's sake at least. Why not share with us what an awesome guy you think he is, instead of making him sound desperate and sad?
