It's really starting to get hot here now. As soon as I start to think to myself "Ehhh... I guess Fla ain't so bad..." *boom* heat wave.
I've lived in FL all my life, and I still can't get used to the summer heat.

But yeah, I guess that's why God made AC.

So glad to hear I'm not such a wimp after all. Nice to know you guys can't handle it either even after living there so long.

Actually, I shouldn't be complaining. Tallahassee is nothing like Miami (or Mijami if you will). Was born and raised there. 100 degree heat and 99% humidity almost year round. Needless to say, I don't really miss it. ;)

Whew! I want to live in Florida in the cooler months and in my mountains in the warmer. I still don't know how you do it.

That's what I want to do. I was going to move to Asheville NC. Just more opportunities in Orlando, so I'll put up with the heat... and travel a lot. Still gotta visit my Smoky Mountains!

Asheville is nice. Ever been to Boone? It is even better!

I was just saying to bcv and lilo/tmli (as we were in line for Soarin') that we hadn't seen much of you lately. Hope everything is going well. :cool1:

Alrighty... so I went and registered on dismates.com, made my profile and uploaded a picture and all that. See what happens I guess.

Why are there so many ladies on there with no pictures ? :(

Well, one of us anyway, the first to have to leave. :(

We had a terrific time, wish you all could have been there. We thought about your constantly. OK, maybe not constantly. but sometimes, anyway. :)

Crowds were light, food was great. Company was fantastic: BCV, Tmli/lilo, thanks so much for coming down to join me. Sandy, nice to meet you, remember to share the joys of Beverly with all your friends! and CF, thanks for schlepping the long drive down to spend some time with us. It was nice
to put some faces with the names.

I'm sure I'll be catching up with folks in chat for the next couple of days. PM me if you have any specific questions. :teeth: But remember, "what happens in Disney stays in Disney." :dance3:

I guess it wore them out just thinking about us, Sandy. :dance3: + :cool1:
I rushed home to chat Wed. night and there was *no one* there. :confused3

Didn't realize we were too much for them. ;) Hoping to join chat tonight (if my computer at home cooperates)!!

Sandy

I was on chat last night until about 10:30, and timeless was still there when I left.

I think that there should be a Disney dating site!! Does anyone else agree? What I wouldn't give to find a Disney guy! :teeth:

If only there was a test.....

How would you rate a potential mate on a 1-10 Disney scale?

1) Hates Disney
2) Doesn't hate it but it's like pulling teeth to get them there.
3) tolerates it begrudgingly and nit picks everything
4) is okay with it but when given an option prefers other places
5) Is okay with it but only once every few years
6) Will go but wants to do Universal, Sea World, Bushe Gardens etc.
7) Goes willingly and will do almost anything
8) Totaly gets into Disney on almost every level. A day without Disney is like a day without magic.
9) Is into Disney on EVERY level...sells children to get in another trip.
10) If you won the lottery you would LIVE in Disney World!

Feel free to make changes

Hello all! I'm new here and have lazily not taken the time to find/read the posting etiquette, so if I'm posting "out of turn," I ask your collective forgiveness in advance.

I stopped by your fine site while researching my upcoming trip to Orlando...by this time next week I should be enjoying my first-ever visit to Animal Kingdom. I was finding your site most useful in terms of getting tips and tricks from the experts when I stumbled across this thread. Granted, I've only had time to read the first couple of pages of postings...I'll have to give it a closer look when I get back.

I just felt compelled to register here so that I could post that I feel your pain, ladies. I'm going to WDW as part of the roller coaster enthusiast group, as we're having our annual convention there. I had always hoped I might find a fellow coaster fan to live happily ever after with, but alas our group is predominantly male. The minority of women in my hobby are either taken or not even close to my age range. It probably doesn't help much that I'm a bit of a quirky uber-geek in many respects. :) As such, it's been a bit of an exercise in frustration, but such is life, I suppose.

So on the scale that I quoted from the poster above, I guess I'd fall into the 6 or 7 range. I LIKE Disney, but I LOVE small, traditional style amusement parks and prefer wood coasters to steel--there's this place called Knoebels in central PA that I doubt most of you have heard of that I consider to be heaven on earth.

Anywho, just thought I'd share my empathy with ya'll. Good luck to all in your respective searches.

-Jason

Hey Jason! You're going to love Expedition Everest! Try to sit in the front row if at all possible.

Fellow ACEr here...(ok, gal ACEr actually), have a great time at the convention. I wanted to go but just couldn't swing it this year. I will be doing a coaster trip in July, and Knoebles is on my list... Since you're in RI, I assume you've been on Boulder Dash?

Sorry I haven't posted in a while, had a mean accident involving stairs in my garage, my head and concrete, needless to say I'm better and reading the boards again! Yayyyy, lol
Chell, I used to live in Boone, NC for 6 years, nice little town but I needed more city than that, but the beauty there is gorgeous!
I noticed a couple posts about roller coaster trips...My sons and I are going in mid July to hit some in Ohio, TN, VA and PA...should be fun. Love coasters, can't get enough of them.
Anyone on here going to Disney Aug 13-17 by chance? Just wondering if anyone else is going to be down there at that time?
I have missed posting, need to make up for lost time! :sunny: :sunny: :goodvibes :goodvibes
