Down here in Alabama it still feels like summer today - temps in the 90s and humid as heck.

But we did have two great days over the weekend - temps in the mid
80s - when the temps fall into the 80s it means the end of summer is near. :cool1:

I can't wait for cool crisp mornings and the leaves falling...it is my favorite time of year. Also means Halloween will be here soon - DH & I pretty much celebrate it all month with scary movies each night.

We went to Branson over Labor Day to go boating on Tablerock Lake. Beautiful scenery of trees. Anyway the younger maples were taking on the orangey hue. It was subtle but pretty.

Here in St. Louis the poison ivy, sumac trees, some of the younger maples are changing.

It is the night temps you look at. When they kick back into the 50's then you will start to see fall color.:thumbsup2

The last few nights have been so nice and cool, its been nice to finally be able to turn off the C/A. We traveled up north this past weekend and saw some leaves already changing, some trees were fully changed. Sadly I don't think we are going to see those vibrant colors this year, and it looks like the leaves may come off quickly and early :sad1:

It's 56 here right now-some of the early turning trees are starting to turn and high school football season started last week.

With the dry summer we've had I hope the leaves hang on a while..at least long enough for their colors to change.

DH can't wait until he can put the mower up for the year, our back yard is like Central Park so he puts off cutting it as long as he can without us looking like "that neighbor". :rotfl:

South Florida checking in.. with no signs of Autumn what so ever. :( Ask me in November.

There are leaves all over our yard. Our labor day weekend was cold! It was in the 50's in the mornings. We cut wood 2 days this weekend getting ready to heat our home for the winter. Yuck. I'm not excited. :rotfl:

NYC here. Kids went back to school today, which means fall to me. Also, it's not a thousand degrees.

Leaves are just starting to change up here in Maine. I went to the Apple Farm this past weekend and got me a peck of Macs, three of which are sitting on my office shelf :lovestruc And next week the Cortlands will be ripe for picking, I CAN'T WAIT!! :woohoo:

NYC here too, and our kids go back tomorrow.

The only sign of fall I've seen is my neighbor's Halloween and fall leaf decorations, which were put up promptly on September 1st. The Halloween stuff (but not the leaves) will be removed promptly on November 1st to make room for the turkeys and cornucopias. These will be removed equally as promptly on the day after Thanksgiving, and will be replaced by all things Christmas. Can you tell I've lived across the street from her for a long time?? Its like a pre-school bulletin board over there. :rotfl:

And by the way, when I say "all things Christmas", I truly mean she squeezes in every blinking/flashing/illuminated/animated santa, elf, tree, snowflake, snowman, ice skating penguin pond, as well as a 6 foot diameter inflatible snow globe, and last years addition - the animated elf ferris wheel! By the way, we live in a townhouse development, so all of the above is in her 1 front picture window and the 8x8 square of grass in the front of her house.

Happy Holidays from here in Tacky Town!

:rotfl: OMG I need to see a picture when this is set up!!

Only signs of fall here in Central FL is the fall candles and scented oils that have made there way into Walmart....I do SOOOO love the pumpkins scented things....oh and Bob Evans started serving pumpkin bread...does that count...

Otherwise...its in the 90's and hotter than all get out..! Bring on the cool!

South Jersey here- Earl took the humidity away- the last couple days have been amazing! And DS(5) starts kindergarten tomorrow:sad1::woohoo::sad2::yay::)

I'll try to remember - it really is quite a sight!

Another new addition from last year was the digital "___ Days to Santa" countdown clock which was mounted high on the the top gutter. It was wrong, unless they celebrated Christmas was on 12/28...and if they do, who am I to judge?? :confused3 I don't know if she forgot about it, or just couldn't reach it to get it down, but that sucker was up there 'til nearly Easter.

It's been beautiful here in Eastern Iowa lately.. 66 right now with a nice breeze, and supposed to get down to 46 overnight. Beautiful campfire weather! :goodvibes

No leaves changing yet, but we are losing a few leaves on one of our trees. The colors will probably start in the next week or so. I can't wait, fall is my favorite season! :)

It's going to get down to 43 tonight in the Northwest Minneapolis Burbs. Our Maple trees are starting to do the slow turn. I love this time of year in Minnesota

In Charlotte it was only in the high 70's low 80's this past weekend. Unheard of in these parts. So the sign of fall was my husband actually working in the yard. He ripped out all of the bushes in frton of the house.
