Any shade on Castaway Cay?

Any shade there? I have a redhead and a very fair DH to boot. And if so, any tips on where it is and should I be first off the ship?

Castaway Cay has plenty of umbrellas....just get off the ship early enough and you will have shade....there are also some palm trees that you could snag a chair under.

There is a covered pavillion to eat lunch as well as a covered game area....

As you can see in the link to a pic of CC that there are plenty of umbrellas...shown in the pic is just the first row of them...there are about 3 or 4 rows of umbrellas/chairs/loungers all the way down the length of the beach.

Do they have any high level chairs. My sister had to have a hip replacement and I think she may have trouble getting out of those chairs I see in the picture.

Lots of sunscreen and a HAT!

I remembered to pretty much bath in sunscreen, but I forgot the hat and got a burned on my scalp (I don't like putting the sunscreen in my hair )

Do they have any high level chairs. My sister had to have a hip replacement and I think she may have trouble getting out of those chairs I see in the picture.

There are two types of chairs: the low ones you see in the pictures and chaise lounge type chairs. I hope one will be o.k. for your sister.

Mmouse..thanks for the pics..I always love looking a pics! I will be getting off very early to get one of those umbrellas!

HooKoo..great point about the hats! SOoo sorry your scalp got burned! Ouch! I'll be buying hats tomorrow..my 2 yo runs when I get the brush..so I doubt she'll keep a hat on...defintely need the umbrella!

The chairs are the low kind or the loungers.....you could possibly ask about a higher chair from a CM...but don't know about that....we have been to CC 12 times and I never saw any higher chairs. Or, (lightbulb goes on) Maybe a CM will bring one of the Deck 9 chairs to CC for you if you ask before you leave the ship and explain the situation.

These are what the deck 9 chairs look like...they are all around the pool areas and the buffet area....

I wanted to add that at the dining pavillion at CC there are picnic benches to eat at and I do not remember if they had any regular table and chairs...I think not. Just wanted you to be aware!!!

I can't remember chairs at the dining area near Serenity Bay but the picnic benches are regular height.

Unfortunately I don't think the Deck 9 chairs will work because the legs would sink in the sand.
