DS is a big science fiction fan. He's looking for a Science Fiction movie to rent. Some that he has seen so far are: Dune, Sphere, All the Star Wars and Star Trek movies, Battlefield Earth, Starship Troopers, Soylent Green, The Core, and most of the common ones.

I can't help him cuz my movies have to have pixiedust in them.

Thanks so much and pixiedust to you all. :)

Equilibrium
1984
Blade Runner
Total Recall
Twelve Monkeys
The Abyss
Event Horizon
Lost in Space
Mission to Mars
The Red Planet
Stargate
Deep Impact
Independence Day
Armageddon
Spaceballs (well... not really... but it sure is a classic)
2001: A Space Odyssey
Planet of the Apes
and of course my favorite: Close Encounters of the Third Kind

This is DS. I'm just checking on the thread that my DM (is that right?) started for me. Thanks for the reply but I've seen all of those, too, haha. Except for 1984 but I can't find that movie anywhere in this town. Thank you though ^^

BTW, any books would be good too.

DD loves "Legend". It stars a very young Tom Cruise.

Oh really now, lol!!!

Lets rumble then...how old are you BTW? I don't want to suggest anything inappropriate.

The Matrix movies
Was Dune old or new? I like the old with Kyle.
Dark City
Brazil
Night of the Comet (lighthearted fun)
The Omega Man
Logans Run
Flash Gordon
Minority Report

Are you just into Sci Fi or Sci fi/Fantasy mixed with a touch of horror?

I like it all. I do not know how old you are but ANIME has some terrific stuff out there.

Thanks. I'll see if I can find those movies anywhere. BTW I'm 18. I like it all too, just like you. I saw Akira, and that was messed up., haha. I've seen both Dunes, all the Matrix movies and I heard Brazil was good.

Impressive list of Sci Fi stuff.......but a classic I didn't see listed was the book "Day Of The Triffids".
I think the book is still available in bookstores.

Invasion Of The Bodysnatchers (both versions) and The Fifth Element are all good movies as well.

Ok, I haven't seen it but there is a animated "Starship Troopers" out there. I haven't found a way to get it without paying full price but I am looking.

More stuff...;)

"Buckaroo Banzai"
John Carpenters "The Thing" w/ Kurt Russell
Mel Gibson "The Road Warrior"
"Cherry 2000"
"Sleeper" w/ Woody Allen
"AI" w/ Osmond but I cannot watch it, this movie is too dark & twisted for me. It is good though.

Anime-

"Metropolis" is rated as the best sci-fi anime but I don't agree, check it out.
"Princess Mononoke"
"Titan AE"- (my #1 fav as an animated sci-fi)

Here is the #1 movie site w/ list. Enjoy!
