Well, after 5 years of faithful service, my bathroom scale has died. Anyone who gets on it weighs either 60 or 240 pounds--regardless of their "real" weight!

As a result, I have no real idea what I weigh--I was 210 the day before my baby was born, and 198 two weeks later, but the scale has been messed up for a month--the only ones I have seen in the store are cheap $5.00 models, or really pricey ones that have a ton of features--before I shell out some big bucks, what scale do you have and like--or what features do you like--i.e. digital vs non, any fancy additions, etc. I hopped on a few at the store, but my wieght varied on theones you could stand on by 10 lbs or more.,...maybe I should just get the one that says I am the lightest

:p

I go to the doctor for my follow up postpartum appointment next week, so I will have a real weight to chekc against, but wantd your opinions...

Thanks!

Samantha

I have a very good health-o-meter scale with an old-fashioned dial. The dial is large and easy to read, and it's very accurate - I go to the dr and I'm the same, so it must be good.

I've found that the digital ones tend to break down with all the body fat analysis, settings, etc. I just want to hop on and hop off and not have to wait to find out how much I weigh.

Good luck,
Adele

I have a Tanita and its the best scale I have ever had. It's the same brand as they use in my Weight Watcher meetings.

It even has a body fat option that I do use, but It flucuates depending on the time of day and how much water you are retaining. Its a good indicator though of your progress.

Mine is digital and measures to the .2 which I like. It is so much more accurate than guessing what a dial says, and even better than the ones that measure to the .5.
I love it!

I wouldnt spend too much on a scale........
although the cheapys may not be 100% accurate they are close enough.the important thing is that you are losing and any scale can tell that!
Forinstance, when i use to go to Curves I would use the scale there and it would read about 3 pounds less than my home scale....
Therefore, if my scale said 160 I knew I was really 163........
So when my scale wouldl go down to 157, I would get on the curves one and it would say 160...
Either way, I knew I lost 3 pounds.........

I love my tanita scale, too! The price was not too bad at Costco either. I've had it for a year, and never a problem. My eyes are starting to go bad (old age) and I like the easy to read digital .5 also.
