Any rides you intentionally skip?

What? And why? Are you afraid of the type of ride, or think it won't be interesting?

Last time we went to AK, we skipped Kali River Rapids because being damp/soaked didn't appeal to us at all. That'll be the same for me in October - I'm just not comfortable in wet clothes, lol - not even if we do it last and head out. It's not important enough for me to tote along a change of clothing. So, we skip.;)

Hmmm....I got a bit nauseated after riding the Astro Orbiter thing last time so I think I'll skip it this time around :)

Stich - it is nasty, dark and lame! (in our opinion)
Jungle Cruise - just a little too cheesy for us but would ride it if we has vast amounts of park time to spend

I went on Thunder Railroad once growing up when I was having problems with panic attacks. I screamed and cried the entire time. Now, over 20 years later, I just can't do it again. I'm too scared of having another panic attack! :sad2:

We skip the teacups because I hate spinning rides and the kids can ride this type of ride at any fair or amusement park. We skip Astro Orbiter for the same reason. We skip Jungle Cruise most times because we think it is cheesy. I am looking forward to the day that I can talk the kids out of Dumbo but with DD, who is almost 3, it is not happening.

We are not allowed (DD set this rule at age 5) to ride DINOSAUR!!! Her exact words about this ride "The ride is scary and the Dinosaur has BAD BREATH". So we have further been banned from riding this ride until.. they make it not so scary and when somebody finally gives the poor Dino a breath mint I guess..hahaha:rotfl2:

We would skip Jungle cruise, but it's my niece's first trip, and it is a classic ride, so we'll do it.
Mission space made the whole family sick last time we did it, and even though there's a milder version, we'll be skipping it again this time.
We'll also be skipping test track. It wasn't worth waiting in such a long line for a few seconds of thrill when you sped around the building.

We are a family of complete wimps.....no laughing allowed, but we skip Thunder mountain, EE, space mountain, ToT, actually, the list would be too long....we skip any of the big rides, our kids have no interest in going on them, and DH and I couldn't care less. Our most adventurous ride last year was Splash Mountain, and apparently DS (11) spent the whole thing with his head covered cause he was so nervous, but I wouldn't know, because DS (5) wouldn't get on at the last minute, so he and I skipped out on that one! As it turns out, DS (11) says that was his favourite ride, so maybe we need to make an effort to be a bit more adventurous:thumbsup2

Of course, there are always those that you WANTED to do/see, but then there were these that I had heard not so great things about so we intentionally skipped:

MK--Stitch (heard it was really offensive, and not funny!)
AK -- Dinosaur (knew kids would be scared to death); Kali--hate to get wet
DHS -- ToT (I really hate rides that drop like that!)

I'll have to think of others that we just aren't interested in at this time...

We skip Kali River Rapids, for the same reason you do. When those big raft rides first became popular, I enjoyed them because you *might* get wet... or you might not. It all depended on luck. Now, they run you under waterfalls and stuff -- you *will* get wet. No element of mystery or surprise. Where's the excitement in that?

Maybe I'd do it if it was 100 degrees out, just to cool off... but probably not. Wet underwear is miserable!

Well there are few things we skip. We skip Stitch, Astro Orbitor, Splash Mountain, Mission Space, Kali River, (probably won't do Dinosaur this trip).

Thunder. My brother and sister have both been CM's on that ride at DLR and my brother was actually there during one of the crashes where people were injured. They both made me swear I wouldn't take DS on it.

Now I know Disney would shut it down in half a second if they thought it wasn't safe, but I'd rather not tempt fate on that one :confused3

We skip it's a small world, DD4 things it is boring.

Jungle Cruise
This last trip we had a limited amount of time before wishes so we gave her the choice of Jungle cruise or Dumbo, she chose JC and when it was done she said, I made a bad choice, now all she talks about is how she doesn't ever want to go again on that ride with the crocodiles.

Heard Stitch was terrible

We did Stich once and will never ever do it again. Hated that ride. We don't do any type of coaster b/c I am a big chicken although I think I might be summoning up the courage to do splash mountain...jury is still out on that one. But yea no coasters for us and no tot. I don't do the drop thing. Hate it. We haven't done teacups either b/c df is scared I'll get mad at him for spinning the wheel. :rotfl2:

I won't ride RnRc, as I won't ride anything that goes fanny over tea kettle.

My 1st upside roller coaster was a bad experience and I've sworn it off.

Kali is pretty much the only one we consistently skip. I don't like getting soaked and walking around all day at theme parks.

I skip Kali too...I don't like having wet shorts either. I'll do it, if we are leaving immediately after though.
