Hubby has a conference at the convention center next door and the kids and I are tagging along. Once we saw on the website that they had a lazy river at this Hilton on International Drive, we were excited. Anyone been there? We will have a car and won't hit the parks without my husband so where to go, what to eat in the area for a couple nights? Kids are 11 and 14 and love swimming. Are the restaurants any good at this Hilton?

Ny wife andI have been there several times. It is a real hidden gem. It's only a few years old so everything is new. The rooms are great. Oh and yes, they have one of the best pool area anywhere with an awesome lazy river, a small water slide, a main pool, and a quiet pool. They even have a putting course, so bring your putters and some balls!

The food is not so good though, but we are picky. The room service is about the same price as the regular restaurants. so that's not bad. The 2 main restaurants Spencers and Davids are overpriced but they do have happy hours daily where you can get drink and appetizer specials.

There is a real Imax right down the street at Pointe Orlando. I think it's the largest Imax in Orlando. It's very close to Sea World too. There is a new Dave and Busters on I drive as well as a new fancy bowling alley opening (Kings). Let me know if you have more questions.

Agreed, it is a nice hotel that often gets overlooked as it caters largely to the convention crowd instead of theme park crowd. Lots of restaurants in the area, too.

I stayed there in January like 2-3 years ago during one of the coldest couple of days Orlando has had in over a decade, highs in the 40's and lows in the 20's,so we looked at the awesome lazy river but couldn't touch. When we stayed there it had been open for like 3 months or so so it was in near perfect condition. It is a hotel that probably caters more to the conventioneers with the convention center next door but of course there's going to tons of families there for the parks. It's smack dab in the nicest part of International Drive which is the main street that has Sea World/Aquatica and the Vineland outlets close to the southern end,the convention center in the middle and Universal,Wet n Wild and the I-Drive outlets on the northern end.The area around the convention center will be full of attractions, shopping and restaurants and is pretty walkable so there's no shortage of places to eat and visit.

We are staying 4 nights Memorial Day weekend and got a rate of $126 a night. Resort fee is $20 a night and self parking is $14. The self parking is great. Enter from the rear and go to the top of the garage. You can park right by the entrance and elevators. Very convenient.
