I have money in the Disney Savings Account. If I want to pay off my charges each day, to avoid my credit card being charged, will they let me use my Disney Savings Account to pay it off? I have called twice to ask about this. One CM had never heard of the account, and the other had no idea, and didn't know how to find out.

And another question---I got conflicting answers too. We have 7 adults in our party. Will they let us each attach our own individual credit cards to our magic bands, and still allow our shared dining plans to also be attached to each one?? Thank you!

It CAN be done, however it is not easy to find a CM that knows how to do it. First of all, do NOT call it "Disney Savings Account". That right there will confuse 95% of the CMs. Call it a Gift Card. Have the account number handy and have the CM enter that like they would a Gift Card.

Same answer as above, yes it CAN be done but again you have to find a CM that knows how to do it. Once you think everything is setup I strongly recommend that everyone in your party goes to the gift shop and purchase something small using their Magic Band. Then go to the Concierge or Front Desk and make sure each purchase was charge to the right person. It's SO much easier to get it straightened out in the beginning.

Not sure what you're asking exactly. Dining credits are pooled per room. Every guest registered to that room has access to the Dining Credit pool for that room

Agreed on the test purchase - my three friends and I split charging privileges, and I ended up getting two roommates' charges added to mine. Luckily we were just transferring hotels so I had time to fix it, but it wasn't the greatest birthday surprise.

We tried this last month and they could not get it to work, even entering the number as a GC. The Manager came by and said that you need to request a GC from your Disney Savings Account to be able to use it to pay for room charges. So OP, I would make sure you had a plan B:)

Just curious about the first question. Why wouldn't you just use a credit card and pay off the balance before interest hits? If you have the money in another account it's just a matter of moving it around.

Why not just request the left over balance to be put on a gift card? I wouldn't rely on just giving them the account number..too risky for me.

To the OP:

Can I use the remaining balance in my Disney Vacation Account to pay for purchases I have charged to my Disney Resort room account?
If you have a remaining balance in your Disney Vacation Account after you've paid for your vacation, you can, subject to certain limitations, use the remaining balance—between $5 and $1,000 every 90 days— to purchase a Disney Gift Card for use during your trip wherever Disney Gift Cards are accepted. Get details.

You can use a Disney Gift Card to pay for incidental charges made to your stateroom folio on a Disney cruise or for incidental charges made to your room account at select Walt Disney World Resort hotels and select Disneyland Resort hotels that accept Disney Gift Cards. Disney Gift Cards are also accepted at many other locations throughout Walt Disney World Resort, Disneyland Resort, Disney Cruise Line and Aulani. See whereDisney Gift Cards can be used .

Not sure OPs story, but for us, we are Canadian and our credit card charges international conversion fees. It's cheaper for us to have cash on hand and pay off daily.

Reading about the Disney Vacation Account, it would appear that it is not set up to use to pay for "incidentals"; only the room, tickets, dining plan. As has been stated, it can be done but it is not an easy thing. See below from the FAQ on the Disney Vacation Account website:

What if I have funds left over in my Disney Vacation Account after I've paid for my Disney vacation?
If you have a remaining balance in your Disney Vacation Account after you've paid for your Disney vacation, you can start planning your next Disney vacation! Simply leave the remaining balance in your account, estimate the savings Goals for your next trip and create a new savings plan.

Or, you can use your remaining balance to purchase a Disney Gift Card (subject to limitations— get details) for use during your trip at locations where Disney Gift Cards are accepted. A Disney Gift Card can be requested in a value ranging from a $5 minimum to a $1,000 maximum every 90 days.

Or, you can request a full refund.

I want to chime in and make sure that the right credit card is linked to the right band as suggested above. We did not do this our past trip and my grandfather had paid for several large family meals with his band which he thought was tied to his card until my brother got a message from his bank saying that he was overdrawn. Over $5000 in charges!!! They had switched my brothers ad grandfathers cards when setting them up and it was a nightmare to get Disney to fix it. Several trips to the front desk!
