Yeah, I am wondering too. I was supposed to be on this cruise, but because of a medical emergency had to postpone. I was worried about all my dis buddies on the ship...:sad2:

Coach Rick, I was reading about your family troubles and the reason you had to cancel this trip. I'm so sorry for you and hope things get better for you and your family soon.

As to how the trip was on the 8/17-21 Wonder, it was a great trip. Yes, it was very cloudy on Monday at CC but that helped to keep the temps down. Had it been a bright, sunny day we would have cooked. It was raining when we got to Nassau on Tuesday and many excursions were canceled but we didn't have one scheduled so it didn't bother us at all. The cruise staff came up with new activities and character appearances and we had a good day. Wednesday at CC didn't look promising when we got up in the morning but by 10:00 or so the skies started to clear. It was very windy that day so the snorkeling was terrible, couldn't see a thing. Other than that, it was a great day. It did start to pour really hard about 3:45 in the afternoon on Wednesday. We were at the gangway to see Lilo & Stitch when it started. Stitch was so funny; he picked up my son and ran down the gangway with him. I couldn't even stop him to get his KTTW card. Stitch's cast member had to remind him that he couldn't get him past security. It was a really funny moment.

Docking in Port Everglades was an inconvience that we weren't looking forward to. For starters, our breakfast time was changed from 7:00 to 5:45. That was rough on our 2 kids. But we managed. We then got our stuff and briefly waited to disembark the ship. Getting our luggage was a little tricky as it was very crowded and not much room to move around. We had a party of 13 and tried to stay together. We managed to all get on the same bus and were pulling out of the port by 7:45. The staff really knew how to get people on the right bus with all of their stuff.

After a 3 and 1/2 hour bus ride we arrived in Port Canaveral. It was incredibly windy. We got our stuff loaded in the car and it started to rain again. We made it to Downtown Disney by 1:00. Despite the delay in getting there, we still were able to do everything we wanted to do that day. The only thing we didn't do was swim but that would have been put off due to the rain anyway.

So for us, the trip was great. We certainly didn't want to have to dock at Port Everglades but we didn't let it dampen (pun intended) our trip.

"Stay Away Fay" was the theme of the cruise! Thumbs up to DCL for putting on the pirate party a second night after getting rained out the first time.:thumbsup2 No one can move a large group of people around like Disney. Kuddos to them for making what could of been a really rotten end to the vacation mearly an inconvenience!!

I agree with that the others said. Kudos to Captain Henry for being able to dock on both CC days. I was told by several CMs that the wind was blowing in the right direction so we were able to dock even though it was very windy.

The wind was blowing hard on the second CC day. I've never seen waves at CC. It was surfing conditions for sure.

We lucked out that it really didn't rain too much on either CC day. The real casualty was the excursions that got cancelled on both CC days.

I agree with the comment that it was actually better that it was cloudy and cool at CC. The crew really appreciated it and it was nice not to get overly hot and sunburned. I really enjoyed walking on the walkways in my barefeet and not getting burned on the bottom of my feet.

It rained really hard in the morning of Nassau but cleared up in the afternoon. Morning excursions got cancelled but not the afternoon ones. And it was really great of the CMs to do a Pirate Night do-over that night.

I heard from many of the senior officers that they felt the 8/17 passengers were such a terrific bunch and that everyone was so easy going about the weather and the change to Port Everglades.

The seas on the open water really weren't that rough. Only during the ride to Port Everglades did we feel the motion of the ship.

And I was so impressed that many new activities were scheduled onboard during the CC days and Nassau for those that didn't want to get off the ship in the bad weather. New Navigators were printed in the morning and a new one printed for the afternoon.

I stayed onboard for the 8/21 cruise and many of the CMs visited a local shopping mall in Port Everglades. So it was a nice change for them.

The passengers on the 8/21 cruise really didn't start arriving until 4pm so the CMs and us B2Bers had the run of an empty ship for most of the day.

It was a cruise I'll never forget.
