I'm staying at CSR for the first time in April 2006 with my DH and 2y/o DD. Any recommendations for some child friendly sit-in or counter service retaurants at any park? or resort?

Fortunately, there aren't many places at WDW there are not child-friendly--we have even eaten at California Grill with our DDs. That being said, some our kids' favorite places include:
Chef Mickey's - dinner
Crystal Palace - breakfast
50's Prime Time Cafe - lunch
'Ohana - dinner
Some of their favorite counter service places are:
Pecos Bill - MK
Pizzafari - AK
Liberty Inn - Epcot
Have a great trip!!

When we stayed at CSR last March, one of the things I regretted was that I never had the chance to sample the fare at the Pepper Market Food Court. Everything looked so good!

The Pepper Market is AWESOME!!! I would also recommend Ohana's at the Polynesian and the Whispering Canyon Cafe at the Wilderness Lodge. Both of these are extremely entertaining for the kids. My kids really like the Crystal Palace Buffet located at MK. It's a Poo character dinner. Enjoy!!!

CSR, love that resort!!

I second the O'hana's (although they've changed their menu since I was there last) and Chef Mickey's also a favorite, and our beloved Teppanyaki (tee hee...can't wait!) we go there everytime, we love it. All the restaurants are kid friendly, even CG, they were incredible to our children. Have fun!

Based on your DD's age I would have to recommend Crystal Palace or 1900 Park Fair.

Everything is good.

O'Hana's at Poly-breakfast
1900 Park Fair at GF-breakfast
Chef Mickeys at Contemp-breakfast or dinner
Trails End at Ft. Wilderness-breakfast or dinner

Cosmic Ray's-MK
Tony's Town Square-MK
Electric Umbrella-EPCOT
Garden Grill-EPCOT

The Boma at AKL is always our pick for the best restaurant at WDW to go with kids. If the kids are adventurous, they'll eat like kings (as will you). If they're not, they can eat typical kid fare.

Second favorite for us with kids is Crystal Palace at MK.

We used to really like Cape May at the Beach Club, but our past two dinners there were subpar.

Ohana at The Polynesian is wonderful if your kids aren't just mac and cheese/chicken fingers eaters. It's also a great place to take a big group.

The buffet at Ft. Wilderness (can't think of the name right now) is also kid friendly, although I didn't love the food and thought crowd control wasn't great because of the set-up.

Chef Mickey's is always fun for the kids, but not the best fare for adults.

Ohana! Ohana! Ohana! :cool1:

It seems like a great environment for kids, they got them up, doing stuff, and running around. DF and I really enjoyed it.

Our last trip I took my girls 10 and 6 to Coral Reef and Epcot. They loved it. You sit beside a giant fish tank. It was soooooo cool. If you decide to go make sure you ask for a table right at the tank. Every table is a great view but I found right beside the tank to be the best. Have fun. :Pinkbounc

Character meals: my kids love Chef Mickey's and 1900 Park Fare.
We love tony's town square because the kids get pizza and we get a great seat for Spectromagic.

Cinderellas Royal Table has excellent food and was great with kids as we took out 2 yr old there. Cape May at the Beach resort was great as the table cloth was paper and they had crayons so the kids could color allover! Of course for character meals I love the garden Grill at Epcot. Pecos Bills is good for counter service just try and do a late lunch so you can beat the crowd!

My kids really liked Crystal Palace, Liberty tree tavern, Chip and Dales harvest feast in the land at Epcot, and also 50,s prime time cafe, they are really great with the little kids, plus the adults get some fun too!

For a sleeper pick the Biergarten at Epcot was kind of cool. My 5yr old son had fun on the dance floor up by the band. Food was so so but a good change of pace and having live "non character" entertainment was fun.

We also ate at Chef Mickeys, Sci Fi, Tony's, & Crystal Palace. Chef Mickeys was his favorite. :)

Ohana - very good food, and has kid activities. I ate there after spending the day at MK, and then went right back to the park after dinner, since it's on the monorail line, it has easy accsess to MK.

I've eaten at five character meals.

CRT - Lunch
CRT - Breakfast
Akershus - Lunch
CP - Breakfast
1900 PF - Breakfast

All of them were very child friendly. I enjoyed the food at all, though Akershus may be a little to different for some people, and although I really liked the lunch food at CRT, probably won't be returning there since I've done the castle twice, and it's going up in price. 1900 Park Fare had good food, but horrible service. CP was my favorite breakfast, very yummy, interesting foods, as well as the usual stuff.

Beaches and Cream is a great place for a counter lunch and don't forget to have some kind of ice cream for dessert!

If the OP is on the dining plan, then beaches and cream is a Table Service restaurant, not a counter service restaurant.
