We are going to WDW in March to see DS's marching band march at MK. DH and DS will travel with band. DS, DGrandma, and myself are going to go for a few extra days. I will have our digital camera to get pictures but wanted to send a camera with DH to get some other shots of the band. Has anyone used a good disposable camera that they would recomend? I don't want to have to buy another digital camera.

Thanks

Really, by the time you buy the disposable cameras and pay the extra $$$ to develop the film, you are probably better off just buying a cheapy $50 digital camera.

That probably isn't the answer you're looking for though. My mom insists on using disposable cameras (even though I bought her a digital), and the Kodak and Fuji brands seem to produce the best pics.

I second the idea to buy an inexpensive digital camera for your son. If he is old enough to go on a band trip, he is old enough to take care of one and use it appropriately.

I agree with the others. I was so bummed when I found out that I forgot my digital camera at home when we went to Hilton Head. I was thinking, "eh, it's outside, it's the beach, the cheapie Walmart disposables will probably be fine." The Hilton Head walmart had Fujifilm digital cameras in a two pack for $10. The picture quality was awful. And the price of printing. :scared1:

I agree with the PP's. Also, the places you can take the disposable cameras to get developed are becoming fewer and fewer. I know our Target no longer accepts them, they just placed up a sign stating so. I don't believe our Walmart does anymore either.

If OP wants to stick with the original plan -- CVS often has disposable cameras on sale. Someone here very nicely posts the CVS deals before the circular comes out.

If you'd really prefer to stick with a disposable, I would stay away from the store brands or "cheap" discount disposables. I haven't used a disposable in years, but I do work in a photo lab. A lot of people are still insist on using disposable cameras and the best success is with the Fuji or Kodak cameras. Sometimes it just pays to pay a little extra for name brand. When you open the box, look at the bottom of the camera to make sure it hasn't passed the expiration date (although it still can be used and developed if it is "expired"). Keep it out of the sun and out of the airport scanners and you should be fine.
