Have Club Level reserved at the Swan in early Dec; government rate of $214 for DH, 13 yr old DS and self. This is a splurge for us as I've always wanted to stay on concierge, but am anxious and hoping it is worth the extra money. (we could still downgrade to standard room) Am interested in any info on "extras" in the rooms and opinions and info on the club lounge. ??anyone stayed recently?? ... thanks!

We had Club Level in early August. I posted a review about it on the S/D thread -
I found it to be good for breakfast - the lounge is only open in the morning and evening, not all day like the concierge service at the Disney properties.
Depending on how much you are paying is really a big factor. They provide continental breakfast each day (so if you are not planning other breakfast activities) and evening appetizers (if you are there to enjoy them not out at the parks) no alchohol is included - but they have wine & beer you can buy.
Let me know if you want more specifics.

The Club Level is NOT like the concierge you read about for Disney. No special reservation help, no afternoon snacks etc.. IT is basically a limited breakfast and evening snack. The room I got on the Club Level was no different from the rooms I have stayed at that were not on club level. Nothing special.

I got it for free when I stayed there July 4th and would not pay for it. I found the lounge very crowded since they let a lot of other guests (not just club level) upgrade to the lounge. I would recommend downgrading to a regular room and using the difference for a nice meal.

Thanks for the advice ... I was reluctantly leaning toward that decision ... now I've decided for sure ...

We did NOT find that the lounge was over crowded when we were there. There was plenty of food and the staff is very nice.

The breakfast had a better and more plentiful selection of food than at the GF (where we were at concierge following our CL Swan stay). More items and better selection. The CL lounge is closed all day. Then reopens - it is open from 5-7 for snacks (cheese crackers, fruit, and a hot appetizer or two) and soda and water.

The hotel concierge (who helps any hotel guests) was awesome in securring some last minute PS's for us - and we found that they did a better job of this than our other WDW resort concierge experiences we have had.

True, the Swan CL is more limited than the Diseny resorts but my experience it was A LOT less expensive than the Disney resorts so it is not really fair to compare the two. If you were paying the same price, the Swan CL would pale in comparison as the hours are not comparable. However, if you are upgraded using points, or for free, or pay a minimal amount (less than $40 per day) like many people do, then it is a nice perk and another great reason why the Swan and Dolphin are a great value for the money at WDW compared to what is charged at Disney resorts.

We are doing CL at Swan at same rate(teacher's)for 12/28-1/02/04. I am starwood member, but think it may be hard to upgrade at that time of year. Thought the price was ok for the convenience of the resort to everything.

We love CL at the Swan, but I think it also depends on how many are in your family and their ages. It is the same cost to upgrade for four as it is for two. Teens would get more out of it than toddlers. Also, they will do ps's or anything else you would like, but they are not open all day. Hooked up pretty much hit the nail on the head with her post.
