We are first timers planning on going there our first night--so I was just wondering about any recent reviews. Would it be good for first timers on their first night, or would we miss alot of spectro and the fireworks? Thanks

We did this back on July 31 and we will not be doing it again. Seeing the fireworks from this location was great but that's about it and it wasn't worth the money.

You can see Spectro (barely) and you can hear the music but it's not the ideal place to be if you are interested in seeing Spectro.

The desserts were not replaced as others reported they would be. I had a party of 8 and only 1 of us had 1 chocolate covered strawberry. We each took about 3 desserts to try since the plates were small. We did notice several people taking 2 and 3 plates each so I guess they didn't want to miss out on anything like we did. The canolli was soggy and the creme brulee was mushy. When we asked if they would be refilling anything especially the strawberries we were told they are out. We were very disappointed and I wrote a letter to guest communications about it and also talked to someone with the vacation club about our experience.

The tables were very tight too. We were sitting up against other tables. When we wanted to get up to get something to drink or get our spot to see the fireworks we had to have someone move because we were in the back of the 2 rows of tables.

Very, very disappointing.

Thanks for your input. I don't know if we want to be tied in like that so I am going to keep thinking about it. We could go to Spectro one night and then wishes another or just be more flexible if we don't do it.

Any other input. I know there have been positive ones, just seeing if you were a first timer, on your first day, would you do it? Thanks

Are you allowed to watch spectro from main street and then go up to the dessert party, or do you have to arrive before spectro?

Pretty much agree with this as we just did it on July 15th. The fireworks viewing is great - I got some amazing shots - but that's about it. Here were our issues:

- check in was astronomically long as they were behind in setting up, and in getting guests out of that area who were eating dinner

- desserts were warm, and too many cream based desserts (DH said choco/strawberries were gross)

- beverages were warm too (yuck!)

- very dark

- very crowded

- very hot!!!!!

- Photopass photographer was not friendly at all (very rushed and impatient)

- CMs were clearing out stuff way too quickly - they actually tear down one of the dessert tables pretty much as soon as Wishes starts (not sure why?)

We won't be doing this again either, as it's pretty expensive for what you get. They have a lot of improvements to make, as far as we are concerned. As far as Spectro is concerned, it was cancelled that night due to lighting, but I can't really imagine how you can see much from that viewing spot.

We were at the Dessert Buffet on August 2. This was actually the night before we flew home so we had actually watched the parade and Wishes from Main Street earlier in the week. You cannot see the parade very well at all from the buffet area. There are three seating areas and we were in the "A" section. Hope that you get "B" or "C" if you decide to do it. "A" is on the wrong side of the buffet so you are totally blocked by people for most of the evening as they go through the buffet line. You can't see the castle or the parade for most of the evening. Check-in was not handled well. The line was super long and when they opened up and started taking people to their tables a bunch of people rushed up and started forming a new line in the opposite direction! What a mess! About 15 minutes before the fireworks started we found a great spot to stand along the wall and the view of Wishes was beautiful. No heads or balloons or little kids on people's shoulders - just an awesome view of the castle and it's reflection in the water in front of you. We thought the desserts were good and it was fun to try so many different things but we won't be doing it again if it's still going on the next time we go.

Thanks for everyone's input. I am certainly still thinking about it. Thinking that we could be more flexible that day if we wanted to do DTD or MK we could. If I cancel, I will certainly put it up that I do. Any more reviews? Thanks

What night do you have a ressie for? I'm looking for the 28th or 29th. Thx. for 1 or 2 people (it doesn't matter-I would do this alone).

Wow, we did this on August 1 and have the exact opposite view from these other reviews. We absolutely loved it! The line moved fast, our seats we very nice -- it was humid, but not unbearable. The dessert table was constantly being refreshed. We sat right under spot where tinkerbell comes down to what looks like the top of the restaurant. My kids were thrilled! I would do this again and again, if opportunity came up. There were a few rude folks pushing for desserts, etc., which I didn't like, but so what. I thought the creme brulee was excellent .. as were, I think, the mango shooters?! Wow, really good. We had what I thought was a good view of spectro and wishes. I hope you decide to do it.:goodvibes:goodvibes
