Any recent reports on EA availability

Actually no there are not. Many of the folks stranded drove the vehicles they rented back to their homes and dropped them off there.
We arrived a week ago Friday(very very late), went to the EA, all that was there were intermediates and one Bonneville. All white (UCK). We took the Bonneville.
We returned the car yesterday and there was literally NOTHING in the aisle, not a single car, and very few (like 5 intermediates) being checked in.
The good news, National did not charge these folks an alternate drop off charge, the bad news, there was nothing on the aisle. I expect folks with an EA ressie will be selecting from the full size aisle for awhile.
