Any recent issues with Hertz

I read there were Hertz issues with cars being reported as stolen. Has anyone heard if that problem has been resolved? We have used Hertz in the past and would like to try them again if it has been resolved. Thanks

I’m renting from them this week so I’ll report back. I’m not worried about it. I haven’t heard lately that there is still an issue.

Reading about the lawsuit against them over this issue has made me resolve not to use them unless they are absolutely the only choice (which they have been on some trips we’ve taken). I have no interest in getting reported as having stolen a car I paid for.

The reporting was overblown. 99.9% of the cases had to do with people that extended their reservations or did not bring the car back to where they said they were going to. There was one lawsuit filed two years ago, that had a hearing and got re-reported. I have no issues using Hertz and will continue to prefer them over other agencies. Even if it happens and you get stopped, if you have your rental contract with you and you are within the dates listed on it, it should be settled quickly.

I used them last weekend out of Tampa, returned to Sarasota, and had no issues.

Just make sure you get a receipt when you return it. Then take photos/video of the return showing where itis with license plate. Some people have spent time in jail for Hertz’s mistakes.
