Any reason to stay at a resort rather than a DVC property?

8 of us planning on coming to Disney and the most economical option for us is to split the cost of a two-bedroom villa at one of the DVC properties. Much less expensive than two separate rooms at a resort, even a couple of the moderate ones. We're not DVC members, but are looking at renting points. Is there a downside to this? Are we missing out on anything by staying at a DVC property? I can't find anything, but it almost seems too good to be true.

if disney is offering free dinning - you won't get renting from a dvc member - now from Disney you will. (also pay 4 times as much)

or for that matter the disney discount - but still think DVC members can give you a better price.

You can pay for daily housekeeping if you want it. I prefer not having it.

At least two of you, maybe four of you will be sleeping on a sleeper sofa. And two of you will get a king sized bed in a separate bedroom.
