Any reason NOT to take a taxi from SNA to DLR?

In looking at ways to get from SNA airport to DLR, it seems like Super Shuttle and other shuttles are really popular - just wondering, is there any reason not to just take a taxi? With four of us, the cost seems pretty comparable (I've read about $8pp for Super Shuttle or about a $40 cab ride) and with a taxi you aren't riding with other people or stopping at other resorts along the way, and I assume you can just grab a waiting cab outside the airport rather than waiting for a shuttle. We'll have DS5 and DS8 with us, but we are bringing our own booster seats with us, so that's not an issue. Am I missing something?

With 4 people will it be a problem fitting in a taxi cab? Some use cars and that means three across between the booster seats and a trunk for baggage, you may get a minivan and then it should be better.

But costwise for 4 people it is comparable.

We always take a taxi from SNA to our hotel. With two young kids, carseats, and a stroller we request a minivan and we fit just fine. A minivan is the same cost as a smaller car, fyi.

As a sort of additional SNA-->DL taxi question is there room in the minivan taxis for 6 passengers? We'll have 4 adults and 2 kids in boosters (need the boosters for the rental car that we're getting to drive to San Diego after our days in Anaheim. Thanks!

The cab option works great for us, but the space might be a concern with car seats. We put two regular sized car seats in the back of the cab and I just BARELY managed to squeeze between them. My husband never would have fit and he's not a big guy at all. I don't know if a lot of bigger cabs are available, but you might want to try putting your car seats in a standard sized sedan and seeing if it will work. It would have been pretty embarrassing to have to take everything out of the cab and find a bigger one if mommy had't fit!

In the vans we have taken, six people will definitely fit. When you walk out the door of SNA and across the crosswalk to the taxi line, just tell the person you want a taxi van and they will have one pull around. We ALWAYS ask for a van. They try to get us to take the taxi at the head of the line, but we insist on a van and they have been able to call one right over. Our family of four feels safer in a van and the two added bonuses are that there is no problem fitting all of our luggage in AND my DH can ride in the back with us. It's not his favorite thing to ride in the front passenger seat as he feels pressure to talk to the driver and that's just not his thing.

Do not give this one bit of worry! Getting a taxi at SNA to DLR is EASY EASY EASY!
