DH and i are going to buy a lot. We were approved for $85000 lot loan, with 15% down....


THe seller offered to pay closing costs, but we are still $2000 short on the down payment. is it legal for the seller to pay part of the down payment? (in this case $2000)

I'm not a realtor, but I've never heard of this.

I've heard of reduced down payments, cash back and closing--or the good ol' fashion reduction in price.

From the seller's perspective, I can't see them not lowering a price and giving you cash to buy the lot instead.

How long would it take for you to save $2K and just delay closing so you don't miss out on the deal?
