What am I doing???????????? I leave day after tomorrow and I have not started packing!!! I have to pack for me, DH, and DS. I'm just now doing my laundry.

I have a box going where I've been tossing things into but the suitcases are still in the attic!!

Crazier thing is I feel nooo stress about it :rotfl2: I must have gone mad :earseek:

We leave on Wednesday & I haven't even thought about packing. I think the weather is so changeable this time of year that last minute packing is better. My plan is to check out the forecasts and do my packing the night before. So I'd say do your laundry and have everything accessible but I don't think its a bad idea to procrastinate packing this time of year.
My DH definitely doesn't appreciate the art of packing for 2 adults and 3 kids!!

I never pack until the day before we leave. If I pack any earlier, I end up muddled about what has and has not been packed yet. Then we end up with extra stuff.

I do have a packing list, that I read AFTER I have packed everything. It jogs my memory in case I forgot anything.

It's just packing, not rocket science. If you forget something, you can get it down there. :wave2:

You still have a full day to pack???? No problem. Can't remember the last time I packed before the day (or evening) before a trip. And i'm packing for me and my two daughters, and also all of the "general" stuff we'll need.

Don't worry!

go onto mousesavers.com and search for the ultimate packing list. it is a great packing aid!
good luck.
don't worry--whatever you forget you can always buy as you go!

Well, we leave tomorrow morning at 3:30 am and I haven't packed a thing LOL!!!!

I never can sleep the night before a trip...so I usually bide my time packing for the family. I will do whatever laundry is necessary and just fold from the dryer, put in the suitcase. I figure it is better than pacing the floor!

We leave next monday and i will probably spend next sat or even sunday packing. i have me, dh and two kids to pack for but i also have to find my kids summer clothes and check they fit, or in dd's case buy new ones before we leave and the summer stock is not in our stores yet so i will probably buy when i'm out there.

Packing into something other than your suitcase is actually a good idea, especially if the "something" is see-through, like a laundry basket. People tend to duplicate when they pack directly into a suitcase, and end up overpacking. When you have to transfer to the suitcase at the last minute, you notice if you've packed doubles.

One thing I don't do last-minute is toiletries. I travel for business, so I'm used to packing last-minute, but my toiletries bag is always completely stocked and ready with everything except Rx meds already in it. DH and I each have one like this, and we also have a family toiletries bag for when we travel together. These are all duplicates of the stuff that lives in the bathroom. No forgetting a nail clipper or dental floss.

For our trip last week, I tried not to overpack because I wanted to leave more room for the 'goodies' from The World of Disney Store! I packed the night before and only put in enough outfits for the days that we were going. I still had a small travel bag with cold medicine, aspirin, nail file etc...packed for trips. I find that with each trip to WDW, I can do with less things. This time, I found that I never needed to use my pink backpack. If you keep a small bag of travel items together, you'll find how easy it is to just drop it into your suitcase, add your clothes and go! Can't wait to get into a 1 bedroom villa, so I can do one load of wash during a week's stay. I can just pack for half the time of our trips then. princess:

Last minute? Does having to dry things with the car heater on the way to the airport count??

I always pack last minute - this year we're leaving right from school, though - so I need to pack the night before . . . I wonder how that's going to turn out! I hope I'm not up all night . . . .

Oh - and I've done the car heater thing to dry clothes and it's rare when I don't have to leave my hair straightener out to cool off.

Oh my 3mousketters, we leave on wed too and we have not started packing yet!! I'm off from work tomorrow so I plan to do the laundry and then figure out what i should take, plus i need to check on the weather too

Me personally? I'm a night before kinda gal. I always make a list, because I'm WAY too "Disney on the brain". I usually do laundry the day before, and pack that night.I always check off everything on my list, and I make the list,a week or so before. That way I have time to add to it.Good luck and have a ball

sandyluvsdisney - have you been watching the forecast?? Both weather.com and accuforecast.com look great for us. No rain and wednesday's high is 77! Yea!! I hope I didn't just jinx us. Packing just got a lot easier - doing mostly shorts and t-shirts with a couple pairs of sweats for the kids and capris for me for night time which probably will be a little cool. Will probably need light jacket or sweatshirt for first thing in the morning too.
Now I just have to find the kids summer clothes. The thing that saves me is I have a travel kit all packed for trips with an extra set of toiletries and stuff for the kids like toothbrushes and children's medicine.
Hope you have a great, warm trip! Sounds like we're getting a snow storm later this week in CT so we're getting out just in time. Maybe we'll get stuck and won't be able to fly back! Too bad!!

Leaving Friday AM and I have just finished buying all the extras we will need for the trip. My kids are funny about wearing new clothes so everything will have to be washed before we leave. Lists have been made for each person (DH, DS, DD and ME), basics (underwear, socks, etc.) have been pulled out of draws and placed in a laundry basket (one for each of us) and I will finally put everything in the suticases either Wednesday or Thursday night. I did have to buy a lot of new stuff for the kids as each one had a growth spurt this fall. I don't want my DD(6) looking like "Daisy Duke" in her shorts so I will have to buy some once I get to FL as there aren't many in the stores yet in NY.
