Any read or ordered the book "Disney Adults" by AJ Wolfe ?

About 1/3 of the way through the audiobook and I like it. I appreciate AJ's narration.

Hahaha, isn't it crazy? I was really thinking it would go somewhere productive before turning into a several-chapters ad. The first chunk was good! The rest....

I just wish it had kept dealing with demographics, sociology and tourism studies. Maybe compare and contrast between different parks, deal with the current state of media-based consumerism, talk about accessibility, social media, etc. etc. in depth. Buuuuut.... then it just.... turned into an ad lol

Bought the book and am about a quarter through and just can't get into it, it is slightly interesting with the psychology behind the fans and Disney’s use of marketing strategies that tap into it, but feel like we as fans knew that already. I usually like to read psychology studies but frankly have been disappointed in the book so far and it sounds from others that are posting that it will get worse, too bad! I was looking forward to it.

I just got done reading it. I enjoyed some of the psychology of it but overall the book went on too long. It could have just been a long article.

It was a pleasant read.
I’m glad I could have it delivered at my local library, and that someone else will now be able to have it.
I wouldn’t have bought it. But I’m glad I’ve read it… if that makes any sense…

I borrowed it from the library. I thought it would be more of a deep dive sociological study, but it didn’t really tell me anything that I didn’t already know.

I did get a chuckle out of one line where she called Orange Bird a deep cut, even amongst Disney Adults. I don’t really consider myself a Disney Adult, as I don’t really know or care much about Disney as a company outside of the fact that they sure can build a nice resort, but I’m obsessed with Orange Bird! Maybe I’m a Disney Adult and I don’t realize it.
