Any reactions to new Battlestar Galactica...

part 1 on Sci-Fi last night?

I was not a Battlestar fanatic, but I enjoyed the old show.

I was not sure what to expect from new version (a female Starbuck?) and I miss some familiar characters, but I must admit it kept my attention and I look forward to the second part. I liked the more "realistic" look of the show and there were echoes of 9/11.

Anyone else care to comment?

I went into it with low expectations but am hooked. I'm not big on the human-like Cylons, but I think it has potential to be a good series (assuming, of course, that the ratings of the miniseries warrant a series).

I didn't like the Starbuck character, but I think Edward James Olmos made a great Adama.

I actually liked the old one much better than this new version. Are they making this into a series or is this just going to be a 2 day thing and that's it?

Dania...I thought the opposite...that the original series was cheesy and this was much better. To each her own.

If the miniseries does well a series is planned. I'm looking forward to it.

I hear they have high hopes for a series. I agree that Olmos is good, but "Apollo" does not do anything for me yet and where are Serina and Athina?

I taped it, but haven't watched it. How can you have BG without a search for earth..........I haven't decided if I will watch it or not.

It is definitely worth a watch, but you really have to take it on its own merits. It's almost like comparing apples to oranges.

I miss all the Ancient Egyptian touches.

I was a little surprised by some of the "racier" scenes!! Glad the kids were in bed!

I loved the old series, so I went into this one with every expectation that I wouldn't enjoy it. I did appreciate that Starbuck wasn't the girl's name as much as it was her call sign. It might be an interesting story to hear how she got it. I'll admit, I'm hooked on the mini-series. Don't know that I'd watch a regular series. I'd have to withhold judgement until later.
