I just got back from 14 days at POR and dined at the following places:

Breakfast-Chef Mickeys, Tusker House, Ohana, Boma, 1900 Park Fare & H&V

Lunch-Whispering Canyon and Le Cellier

Dinner-Garden Grill, Sci Fi, Boma, T-Rex, Boatwrights & Crystal Palace

Counter Service-Cosmic Rays and the food courts at POFQ, CR, GF, Poly, AKL and POR

Was alot of fun especially all the character meals with a three year old in tow, just need to diet like crazy now!

Monica,
Sounds like you had a great time and dined very well. Thanks for sharing with the boards. :cool1::banana:

How was dinner at Garden Grill? I'm thinking of going there our first night at Disney to get us in to the spirit. How was the food? Characters? etc...
Thanks so much for your reply!!!

Garden Grill was one of our favourites, the food was yummy! It was served family style which we love. My favourite was the turkey and stuffing and my husband loved the Mahi-Mahi and steak. I just remembered how amazing the salad and the bread rolls were too.......:goodvibes

We saw Chip & Dale, who were so lovely to my three year old and spent a lot of time with us. Goofy, Mickey and Pluto were good fun too just didn't spend much time, chance for a quick photo and off again.

Thanks so much for your quick reply :thumbsup2 I'm going to make reservations right now!:goodvibes

Chip and Dale are my son's favorite characters!! Should be lots of fun!:)

I noticed you had breakfast at Boma, which is outstanding. So how was their dinner?

I love Boma for dinner. We go here for dinner every year when we visit AKL.

The soups are awesome, my favourite was the seafood one - can't remember exact name.

The carved beef was to die for especially with all the sauces you can try with it.

My husband is a fan of the fufu (sweet potato, mashed potato and cinammon) and the falafel.

Everything was freshly prepared and delicious as always would definitely recommend.

Oh and how can I forget about those amazing desserts....the upside down pineapple cheescake and the peanut butter cups were great...think I had a zebra dome or two lol

Thanks ... we're having dinner at Boma on our upcoming trip, and I'm sure we'll love it too. Of the places you did eat at, were there any you wouldn't recommend?

You had a lot of great ADRs! I'm wondering how you'd compare the Chef Mickey's and Ohana breakfasts. Thanks!

In my opinion based on food quality, my top restaurants were: Le Cellier, Boma (B&D), Park Fare, Ohana and Tusker House. The places I wouldn't return to are Whispering Canyon, Hollywood & Vine and Sci Fi where the food was just about okay.
did you have breakfast at POR? if so, what would you recommend?:yay:
I loved the Bounty Platter served at the Riverside Mill, which consisted of bacon, sausage, biscuit, potatoes and french toast or pancakes. If I wasn't feeling too hungry then the yogurt parfait was great too. Don't forget they have a create your own omelette station too.

Chef Mickeys is worth doing if your kids like the main characters, Mickey, Pluto, Minnie & Goofy, however, the food is only so-so and the characters were rushed. We liked Ohana better as the food was awesome and you get to see Mickey there too as well as Lilo and Stitch. Tusker House was another great place that is worth considering.
