We stayed at Cortona Inn & Suites this weekend. I know there have been several posts in the past asking about the hotel. If you have any questions, fire away!

how clean? location? any Disneyland help you can give me I would really appreciate. I am so lost right now trying to plan a last minute Christmas trip.

This hotel is not really within walking distance of DL. It would be quite a walk but is doable. It's located on Harbor past Katella heading away from DL. It's an actual motel, not a hotel, all exterior doors. The room was huge and it had a microwave and a fridge in the room. The bathroom was fine and the room was clean but the bed was uncomfortable. They definitely need to update the bedding. We won't stay there again because it took us about 30 minutes to check in. They took forever with the people in front of us and then when it was our turn to check in they couldn't find our reservation. Not a way to spend 30 minutes when you just want to get to the park. Our other problem was a personal one and was a freak occurrence I presume. We had just gotten to the room and DS picked up the phone and apparently dialed the front desk while DH and I tried to get all the luggage in the room and put away. About 5 minutes after we'd been in the room the manger came to our door and asked us not to let our children play with the phone because they had called the police. Well excuse me but we don't let our children play on the phone it had just happened while we were trying to get everything unloaded and also if they had called the police, they wouldn't have known what room it came from. Started off our stay on a sour note. After that, everything else was okay except the uncomfortable bed.

Thanks for the info. We check in Friday but aren't going to the park until Saturday. Plus no kids. We have 2 double deluxe rooms. Are these what you had and were they on the first floor? Was it just a shower, or could you take a bath? And what did you pay? We got a great rate of $62.25 a night. You can ignore the nosy question. Just was real happy with our rate. We're all guys in our 50s, and we think we can handle the walk. What do you think without kids?

We had, I think, just standard rooms but I'm not sure on that one. When we checked in they asked us which floor we wanted and we chose the ground floor because it was easier to get in and out with the kids. The room had a tub/shower combo and also had a microwave and a rather big refrigerator. I would suggest walking the first morning and would assume it would take about 15 minutes. If you find that it's too far to walk you can always take the ART back to the hotel that evening. We clocked it when we drove by and I think it was about 3/4 of a mile. Just one more thing about the walk, they had the sidewalk tore up down by the entrance to DL which would make you have to cross to the other side of the road and then back to the DL side once past it. Just something to keep in mind.

We booked thru getawaytoday dot com and got pay for two get the third night free. It ended up being 69.00 per night which is really good IMO. Just a warning, the beds are pretty bad and the pillows are flat so you might want to bring your own pillow if you can. Other than that we had no problems. Have a great trip!

Thanx for the info. We're flying, so nix on the pillows. I figure 3/4 of a mile is about the distance from our rooms last year at ASMu at WDW to the bus stop, so I think we'll be fine. We booked thru Travelocity and got 20% off their rate for booking 5 nights. There are deals to be had, thank goodness.

hhmmm..
did it have a shuttle to the park?
:goodvibes

Just got back and we LOVED the Cortona. We were on the first floor and found everything to be great excfept the pillows, which were ok at best, The bed, however, was great for me. I slept like a baby. The breakfast was quite good. Loved the fresh waffles. And we never had an issue with the sidewalk being torn up. We always cut through the walkway past the temp lot and didn't realize which sidewalk was torn up till we drove home from the MToTP and saw it. Plenty close for adults to walk, and many walked about that far with kids, even strollers. Don't think I'd like that though. I will definitely stay there again with a similar rate.
