Has anyone had a problem booking WLV with points? I am just curious about availability of rooms for DVC members. We are closing on our WLV on April 13th, and are thinking of booking WLV using our 11 month priority for nest March, probably March 14th, 2002 for 10 days in a 2BR. We realize that availibilty may be tight, as Disney still has a lions share of the rooms for the Cash Ressie system.

our home resort is OKW, but i booked in the 6 mons period at WLV w/no problems whatsoever. and then i turned around and booked OKW for decemeber--again no problem. just two different reservation confirmations to keep up with that's all. did it all on the phone on the same day. good luck <IMG WIDTH="15" HEIGHT="15" SRC="/infopop/emoticons/icon_razz.gif" alt="razz"> <IMG WIDTH="15" HEIGHT="15" SRC="/infopop/emoticons/icon_razz.gif" alt="razz"> <IMG WIDTH="15" HEIGHT="15" SRC="/infopop/emoticons/icon_razz.gif" alt="razz">

I called to book VWL 11 months out for President's Week. Someone advised me to call a day at a time and not wait til the end of the week. On Monday morning at 9:05 they told me the rooms were all gone! I asked her to explain (since I was new at this) as to how the rooms could all be gone at 11 months out, 5 minutes after the phones opened. She put me on hold, and came back on and said she'd found me a room! Go figure.

I also booked President's week at VWL (11 months out from check-out, not a day at a time), and had no problem whatsoever.

Our home resorts are OKW & HH, but I just booked a studio for the end of Oct. at WLV, on pts. I was just at the 7 mo. window and had to go on the wait list for BWV, but I had no problem at WLV.

Booked second week of December, 1BR at WLV without any problems...

with the resort not sold out...and your 11 month window you should be fine for awhile. At some point, like at all of the resorts during their peak times (Orlando resorts--Christmas, etc. and HH--summer months) there will be intense competition for nights but that is where your 11 month window and calling to book by day will come into play.

We stayed at VLW in Feb. for 6 nights. We called the first day the resort opened to point reservations. We checked for 9 nights for a studio in late October of this year at the 7 month window and were told that a few of the nights might not possibly be available and did we want her to check to be sure. So we said never mind checking. We also were checking for OKW at the same time and if push came to shove we were going to go with OKW for savings in points and being able to stay for more nights. The lack of availability for a few nights at the villas made our decision an easy one. 9 nights in a studio for 111 points is a deal any way you look at it. I think you will be fine most of the time. But no one should get to stay at their resort every single holiday...it is only fair that the wealth be spread around to all of the home resort owners. And I would say that is what usually happens.
