Any place to get your hair braided?

We're staying at CBR, and being it has a whole island theme some of us want to get our hair braided. Is there anywhere to do that? I know there's hair wrap stations, but that's all I've heard about.

Do you have any idea who much it would cost? And, how would we be able to get to either of those resorts? We don't have a car.

I think the grand floridian would be easier to get to because it is on the monorail...or you could always walk over from the magic kingdom...my daughter had her hair braided there and i believe it was about 50 with the tip

My dd had hers done at BC at perwigs salon and It was 45.00 plus tip, There was no braiding at CBR

Yep! My two DD's had their hair braided at Periwigs at the YC/BC Resort. Price was about $50 with tip. You need to make an appointment for this.

You could take a bus to Epcot, or the Boardwalk, and just walk over to the resort.

When we stayed at the ASM in 2001 they had a hair braid stand open near the pool. I'm not sure of the cost, but I believe it was so much per inch depending on the beads you wanted.

When you say "braided" do you mean braided into cornrolls? If so I would suggest getting it done the day before you leave at a local beauty school. We have done it several times and it cost $15 + tip vs. $50 or more depending on length. Besides who wants to spend 45 minutes or so getting their hair done at Disney.

No there isn't a beauty salon at the Polynesian although there was one years ago. The GF and CR salons are very convenient though. Just hop on the monorail. BTW you can't walk to the GF from MK. You can hop a little resort launch though or of course take the monorail.

No I don't mean corn rows. I mean you know, just regular braids like they do on the islands. The front is kinda like that but then the rest hangs down.

I guess we'll go to the GF to get it done since It's a stop on the monorail and I want to see it. Now how do I call and make an appointment? Is there a certain number? I guess I could just ask a cast member at CBR when we're there.

Like this, except not done all the way in back? Those too are considered corn rows. We have had Savannah's hair done like this several times now, the first when we had her Birthday party at the BC Sandcastle Club last year/ It was done in Tampa at Manhatten Beauty School and lasted 3weeks. I would never let a beauty school cut her hair but for a braid, you betcha.

Hi everyone, how do I go about making a reservation for braids at GF? Can I call the Disney Club 800 number or do I call GF directly? I'm not interested in corn rows nothing that is braided to the scalp, loose braids.

Loose braids are called box braids. When you look at the parts they are all in the shape of small boxes.

No. I don't mean like that picture. I mean like, regular braids, sometimes they braid the hair away from the face and it does sort of look like corn rows in the front, a bit. But that's not what I mean.

I think you mean corn rows in the front and box braids in the back?

I had my hair done like this 3 months ago. The corn rows stop at your ears. The back is done in box braids. I had my hair done like that 3 months ago. It cost $80 dollars here, so I'm sure Disney will charge much more than that.

Having the whole head braided will definitely cost more than $50. We paid that amount for only the crown area, or half a head.

I was just reading this post and was wondering the same thing. Can you just get a few corn rows done at a disney resort....like say just the top of your head?

From what I saw most of the girls were getting all of there hair braided into what I call corn rows, small braid flush against scalp, back to about their ears maybe a little further.

As for pricing if it is close to what Disney charges for wrapping it will add up quickly, I know the hair dresser here said she charges 75 an hour and it is time consuming. With a little one they move around so much I figured if I spent 15 at a beauty school and it only lasted a few days no big loss. But at 75 or more my daughter would have to be sitting in a straight jacket so she would be still, LOL.

If someone could tell me how to instrt a picture into a post I would be more than happy to share Savannah's pictures.
