I am a Scrapbooker and I take a lot of pictures. My trip in October will be my first time with my digital camera. Instead of buying 3 or 4 memory flash cards, I was thinking of just burning my pics on a CD to free up more space for more pictures. Does anyone know of any place in WDW or nearby to do this?

And if there is, does anyone have an idea of prices?

I looked into things like XDrive etc but don't want to spend that kind of $$$$ and I don't have access to a laptop.

We did this in January & used a Walgreens situated sort of opposite the entrance to Splendid China. We were staying at La Quinta Inn Lakeside so we were next door. It cost about $4/disc of 100 images.

I tried to do it on site last year and it was a disaster. Epcot definetly has the capability. I was told it would be a 4 hour wait. We weren't going to be there that long and so I didn't do it. They couldn't tell me if there was anywhere else maybe MK, not sure. The people at the resort where equally unhelpful. I think the new technology has them baffled. I ended up paying a pretty penny at the camera shop entrance in AK for a 3rd card.

They told me they could send it out but weren't sure where it would go:confused:

Bottom line...off site or buy an extra card IMHO

Good luck

Deb Wills' web site had something posted today that answered that very question...to wit:

"There are two locations to have your digital pictures transferred from memory cards/sticks to disk. The shop in the Kodak-sponsored Journey Into Imagination Pavilion features a full-service photographic lab. Transferring up to 120 images to a disk costs $11.99 plus tax, and $5.99 plus tax for up to 120 additional images. Prints are $.69 each. (Prices subject to change.) You may also drop off your digital media for transfer at The Darkroom on Hollywood Boulevard at Disney-MGM Studios. The cards are sent to the lab at the Imagination Pavilion for transfer, and must be in by 12:00 noon. They are returned at 5:00 pm. Transfer only takes two hours if you go directly to the lab in Imagination.

Uploading to a computer for e-mailing may be available at the business centers of the resorts featuring convention and meeting space, such as the Yacht and Beach Clubs, the Swan and Dolphin, the Grand Floridian, Coronado Springs, or the Contemporary. Call the resorts' business centers before making the trek to make sure they have computers available for Guest use. You will need to bring your own card reader. There will be a per-hour charge for use of these computers, which can be expensive."

Enjoy!

I had this question not long ago and ended up calling WDW directly. I spoke with a CM at MK who told me that they will burn your pix onto a disc for the same prices mentioned below. So, unless they've changed their policy over the last month or so, I'd add the photo place on Main Street at MK to this list as well.
All in all, I think $11.99 is not a bad price for the service. Especially when you price it against the cost of another card that you may never need again. I for one, plan to use this as an alternative should I run out of space on the two disks I currently have.
