We requested a fridge in our room and I am wondering if anyone has a picture of theirs that they rented. Just curious to see what I can fit. Thanks.

all on site rooms have the fridge built in under the counter.

if you plan to rent it, you will be given a key to have access to it.

it is a decent size.

I know that Disney has free fridges for medication that needs to be refrigerated. Is this the case at the Universal hotels? It isn't a big deal, since we are driving and I can bring along a shoe box sized one (which is all I need for the medications), but it would be nice if anyone here knew if there was a charge or not?

Thanks! You guys have helped me so much with all of the planning. :)

call the hotel you are staying at and ask them if the fridge would be free for the usage of storing medications.

if they tell you yes, have them note it on your ressie.

also, get the name of the person that gives you the information

Thanks! We will give the RPR a call and find out what their policy is. It doesn't really matter because I can bring along my little one if I need to, but it would be nice if I didn't have to pack that too. :)

you will find all 3 of the on site hotels very accomodating to the guests' needs.

When I called and explained why I needed a fridge they said that I could have it in the room free since it was a medical reason. Also said the fridge in the room already was not a true fridge and isn't meant for keeping things cold.

What in the world does that mean? LOL:confused3
The one that is in the room (that you get the key to at check-in) is actually the mini-bar cooler. It is filled with drinks, both soda and alcoholic. It keeps things cool, but not cold. It is not a true fridge in the sense that it has true refrigeration capabilities such as maintaining a constant cold temperature. It is much more akin to a cooler. It is not recommended for things that need constant refrigeration temperatures like medications. And although we have never tried it, there have been reports of guests being charged daily fees if they remove the mini-bar contents and put their stuff in it.

The fridges that you can rent are actual refrigerators. We haven't rented one for years, but the last time we did at the PBH, it was a square thing that could hold a bottle of milk, some pop and a few other things.

As the OP found out, the fridges are free for those that need it for medical purposes. Otherwise, there is a daily rental fee for one.

Thanks, that's much clearer. We are driving so we are able to bring our own cooler thank goodness!
