Any personal experiences with Dave's DVC or the DVC Store?

Hi!

Looking to rent points and was looking to try DVC before I commit to DVC.

A little background, I have been going to Disney World for all of my life, nearly every other year. We have stayed mostly at Deluxe Resorts (WL, CR) and would like to experience DVC firsthand.

I came upon Dave's and the DVC store and wanted to know how smoothly the purchase/check-in went, if you had any issues, and if you felt it was worth the money. All info is appreciated!

I used davids a number of years ago prior to becoming an owner. The transaction was very smooth and easy. Just keep in mind when and where you are planning on booking. If looking for a studio you would want to book as close to 11 months out as possible. Otherwise you might only be left with SSR
 

Which resort did you stay/did you purchase the dining plan? I know you have to book that with the owner of the points.

It was a long time ago but I think we stayed at OKW. We never do the dining plan because it’s not a savings for us.

We now own DVC and our home resort is BLT.
 
We booked our first DVC stay with Dave’s rental at AKL for this October. First time renting, so was a little nervous but the process was fast and they were excellent with customer service. I sent in my request and got a response within 2 days and my first choice. The reservation showed up in my MDE account and then I requested the Magic express and got my email confirmation back quickly. So far so good.
 
I am a Dvc owner and rented my points very quickly. They were professional and I would not hesitate to use them again to rent my points, or rent others points .

Add another for David's. We've rented as a traveler and have now rented out points as an owner through them. Never a hiccup; they are excellent.
 
Rented through them for this September for this first time and it's been flawless. They always emailed me back within 12 hours or so; sometimes immediately. When my first choice wasn't available, they gave me all the options they could find that were alternatives and we were able to make one work. The confirmation number was easy to plug into MDE and it linked everything immediately. Flawless! We haven't purchased the dining plan but they did say if we aren't comfortable giving a credit card to the owner to book, we could use a gift card instead. I think we are opting for Tables in Wonderland card strictly because it is good for the year and we will go several times this year... plus the discount includes alcohol which sadly, will pay for itself quickly! ;)
 
I have rented though both and I have rented points out through Dave's. As far as dining goes, I did not get the DP when I rented, but the person renting from me did. They also did DME. For the DME, I got an email with all the flight info and entered it for them. For DP, the renter got a gift card and gave the info to Dave's. Dave's sent me an email to call them. I called Dave's, and while on the phone with them I added the DP using the gift card info they gave me.
 
Have rented points through both with positive experiences. Confirmations linked perfectly through MDE and booked advance FPs without difficulty. The member/owner booked magical express on our behalf. Online check-in was a breeze. Doors unlocked with magic bands so there was no need to go to the front desk at all. Of note, our room requests that were matched with a member were made 8-11 months beforehand.
Would not hesitate to rent from either company again.
But fair warning, we also rented to “try it before you buy it” and we now own a DVC contract!
 
We are DVC owners and rented excess points after a resale purchase that was loaded. The folks at David's are totally professional to work with and consequently, four happy families will be enjoying WDW in the next nine months with our points. I have a folder on my desk should any family need help (through David's of course)...as one family added a guest recently. My son used David's several years ago for a one week stay at OKW and was pleased with service on the renter side. All good!
 
We have done our last 2 out of 3 stays using Davids. The odd one out was because it was fairly last minute that there was just no availability, so we went direct to disney. Had we not just bought a DVC, we'd likely use them again.
