Any other ways to earn SWA Rapid Rewards?

When do the points post to SW? When your billing cycle closes or close to when the transaction is complete? I am getting ready to make my 1st purchase since UnderArmour points are doubled. Spend $50 and that's 400 points.

It varies. The points have to post to your portal Shopping Account and then subsequently post to your actual RR account. Mine usually post to the shopping account within 1-4 days and then a few days later will hit my RR account (they are not dependent on your billing cycle closing). However, beginning this year, my portal points took over 3 weeks to transfer from my shopping account to my RR account. That's the longest they have ever taken and sort of odd since one of my purchases on December 29 actually hit my RR account on December 31 (the fastest I've ever got them). The actual policy says it can take up to 6-8 weeks for portal points to actually hit your RR account, but as I stated, the most I've ever waited was 3 weeks just this month. YMMV.

The UA deal is good, but was much better when you could first order the UA gift card and then use the gift card to purchase what you really wanted thereby doubling your shopping points. UA gift cards no longer count toward points.

Thanks. Just made my first purchase at Kohls. Trying to help DH get the companion pass :) although we are still waiting on the Plus card to arrive. We can see that he was approved but the card is taking forever to get here! It's been almost 4 weeks.

It says you can transfer/redeem Choice Privilege points for Southwest points. I have looked and looked on the Choice site. Anyone know how to make that magic happen?

Yes, go to the "redeem" link here and sign-in to your Choice account: https://www.southwest.com/html/rapidrewards/partners/travel/hotel/choice-hotels.html

Rapid Rewards Dining is another great option to earn extra points: https://www.rapidrewardsdining.com
Hmmm...
On the SW page,
  • Rapid Rewards Members who are also Choice Privileges members have the option to redeem 6,000 Choice Privileges® points for 1,800 Rapid Rewards Points.
I've checked on the redeem, it takes me to Choice and have my login information and when I go to redeem now on the Choice page, I don't see any way to transfer the points. It just brings me to a screen to reserve a hotel or purchase gift cards.

Thanks for all the ideas and suggestions. I will definitely keep working on building up my RR points because there is ALWAYS an excuse to travel, right? It looks like my travel dates for my upcoming trip will be opening soon on SWA so not really any time left to bank RR points for this trip. Thanks again!! .......P

Also check out rapid rewards dining. Certain restaurants give you RR points for dining there. Just link your credit card and search for places in your area.

I think I signed up for e-Rewards through Southwest (or was invited to by SW?), so maybe if you sign up elsewhere, SW isn't an option. I usually earn 1200-2400 points a month with e-Rewards, so it really helps.

I never remember to do the RR shopping stuff.

Do you earn that doing surveys?

I've gotten some really great points for hotel stays through RocketMiles. It's a SW affiliate or something and they will periodically offer extra bonus points. You usually spend a bit more for a hotel room than you might find elsewhere, but the RR points make it very worth it in my experience. I just made 2000 points (just the regular points, no bonus) for a 1-night stay at 2 different hotels (1000 pts per night). You also get the regular points for using your cc. Sometimes you can get bonuses of 4000 points or more. I made 5000 points on a 1-night stay in the fall. https://www.rocketmiles.com We have 3 girls in competitive gymnastics so we frequently need a hotel room for a night during competition season.

Let me just say I am very disappointed with eRewards. I tried to take 2 surveys on Sun ($11 in rewards), received 404 errors. Took two surveys this morning ($9 in rewards) and I didn't receive the reward dollars. I could have had more Southwest rewards by this point had the site worked as expected :(

What exactly did you "buy" from Quickbooks? Looking now................P
I went to QuickBooks on RapidRewards Shopping and clicked through to their website. Once on the website, I just clicked "Free Trial." I then signed up for the free trial with an email and password, then confirmed the email. I never gave credit card info. Within 7 days, I had 700 points posted to my RR account, and they counted towards my companion pass.

I've got two separate eRewards accounts.... one I have a choice of RR Points or other rewards and the other one is Upromise cash (only option). I tried to do a survey on BOTH of them the other day and got that 404 error as well. I am not a huge fan of the eRewards to begin with and for that to happen just makes me less and less likely to use them.

Done and done.... fingers crossed it works for me as well! Thanks................P

I actually was thinking about getting Quickbooks. So I will actually try this.

Thanks! Just tried it. Trying to earn hubby enough points for the companion pass!

I don't know about the errors, but reward dollars don't always show up immediately. They can sometimes take 4 or 5 days...or longer. If you took the survey, you'll get the credit. Just be patient.

I earn extra RR points through erewards. I never remember to use the SW shopping portal.

Do the eRewards count towards the Companion Pass total? I just had 500 points deposited from them and while I have the points in my total available to spend, my companion pass total is short them.

And thanks to whoever posted about WSJ. I received my points without any problems. Just need to make sure I call and cancel since it automatically continues the subscription.

The initial 500 point bonus you get for completing your first survey do not count towards the CP.

Any points you earn after the initial bonus points do count towards the CP. I've found that their points post very quickly (within a few days) unlike e-miles (few weeks).

Thanks! I have $2.40 to go before I can cash out.i didn't want to continue doing surveys if the points weren't going to count.
