I have been on WW Core for almost 3 months. My first week I lost 2.6 pounds then it has been 0.2-1 pound per week for a total of 8.8 pounds.

I've had a loss every week but I get a bit discouraged when I hear all the other folks in the meeting telling of their multi-pound loss week after week. I'm trying to focus on the downward movement of the scale and my new healthier habits as my reward. Also, today I put on a pair of jeans that used to be snug and I was able to zip them right up and sit down comfortably!

Is anyone else is going down slowly and how you stay motivated?

Hi

I thought I was the only one who earned the title of slowest loser...... :rotfl:

I lose very very very slowly.......am actually going to my first WW meeting in about an hour because I am so frustrated that I feel I need someone watching over me.

Stay focused - keep moving :Pinkbounc and stay connected on this message board.

The people you meet here will be your best support system!! :grouphug:

Have a magical Disney Day!! :earsboy:

Have you ruled out medical causes? I lose slowly because I have insulin resistanc (IR). IR is very common with obese people, particularly if you carry your weight in the mid-section. You might want to talk to your doctor about it. Also thyroid issues can cause weight problems.

I too am a slow loser-sounds funny calling myself a loser. I try to be glad I lost 2 pounds in Feb and 3 in March-that's more than 0! Remember the turtle-slow and steady wins the race.

I am a really slow loser too. I'm talking about when I am eating right and exercising correctly, it still is pretty slow for me. I figure that it is OK, but can be a little frustrating when you see others lose faster. Everyone is different and our bodies are all different. Just keep up the work and you will see the results you want to see.

i've maintined a whopping 5 lb weight loss in 3months
and total of 15 lbs in a year!!!!

so i understand slow!!!

i keep telling myself- slow and steady wins the race ;)

good luck on your weight loss journey

Oh bless you for posting this!

I joined WISH about 3 months ago and still haven't gotten my 5lb clippie. I've been increasing my mileage weekly just like I'm supposed to, I don't eat any differently, but the weight's not coming off.

It's frustrating, discouraging, even embarrassing. I did drop 3lbs the first month, but only one lb the second month and last month...nothing. I have nearly tripled my weekly mileage...why isn't the weight dropping off? I'd be happy with a pound a week, but this is making me a little bit crazy.

Aaarrrghh!!!!!!

 Me! Me! Me! I get VERY frustrated!! Anyway, I lost 2 lbs in March. I even went to the doctor to see what's up. He ran a bunch of test and everything was negative. I'm following South Beach and working out at least 70 minutes 6 days a week. I'm upping the exercise to 90 minutes beginning Monday to see if that helps. It has taken me almost 4 years to lose 50 lbs. My doctor did tell me that because I lose so slowly that it should stay off. I do feel like a turtle sometimes. LOL

I'd like to thank everyone who responded it is good to know I'm not alone. I have to say that despite training/completing 2 marathons and 2 half-marathons I never lost an ounce. I'd eat up every lost calorie. I'm really working on portion control and good choices. I'm still exercising and for me it is only tight control of my food that makes me lose however slowly.

I am going to schedule a doctor's appointment just to check on thyroid and insulin issues. I have a history of both types of problems on my mother's side so maybe now that I'm 40 the genes are catching up with me.

I'm not a slow loser, but I have two friends that I joined WW with. One chose core and one chose points. Both were losing VERY slowly and both decided to switch about a month ago. Oddly enough, both started losing when they switched. So, maybe lower carb might not be the best for you, and you might do better on points. Same with SB. Works great for my brother, but not for my mom, who does better counting calories.

Another slow loser here!

I joined WW in October and have followed it religiously. As of last Wednesday, I am down only 20.6 lbs. Not even a 1 lb. per week average!

In addition to what everyone else has said above: slow and steady wins the race, slow losers tend to keep their weight off, etc. - one thing that made me feel better was making a line graph of my weight loss. Each week after weigh in I add that number and draw my line DOWNWARD - it really helps!

I also have thyroid issues to deal with too.

Just keep at it - it will happen!

I think you are right! I'm going back to counting calories to see if that helps. I really need to work on portion control.

Me too, me too! When I did WW last year, it took me ten weeks to lose ten pounds, even with wedding planning stress. I've had all the tests and they turn out normal. I know it's so frustrating. Especially in my case (and I'm sure I'm not alone) when I'm losing the weight that I've put on AGAIN for something like the fourth time. Hang in there sisters!
