Hi all!

Just wondering if there are any other Beth Moore fans on the DIS. Books, studies, DVDs or Living Proof Live events?

I run a Bible Study and we have done two Beth Moore studies in a row (Esther and James) and am looking for something similar but mix it up a little! I'm pretty new at running the group and many of the members are new to Bible study so I would love some suggestions for future studies! LOVED both Esther and James.

:goodvibes

Try Lysa TerKeurst if you can't find anymore Beth Moore, Lysa is amazing amazing amazing!!!

It has been a while but she has one , which is intense, I believe it is called Breaking Free.

I was just thinking the other day how I would love to do another Beth Moore study. I also did Breaking Free and it was great.

Sorry don't know of any but just wanted to chime in and say she is great. She comes to my area every year for a weekend presentation and its a packed house!

I go to a Ladies Bible study at my church and we do a lot of Beth Moore studies. In the last several years we've done the two you mentioned, Esther and James (loved them both!) and have also recently finished her recent one on Deuteronomy. It was a little different, because it was more of a lecture series - the videos were all ~90 minutes and there was no homework to do in between. It was awesome, though! The very last session as she was teaching about the death of Moses, I think my entire group was weeping.

We've also done Beth Moore's Daniel study (WOW), A Woman's Heart: God's Dwelling Place (about the Tabernacle - I learned so much!), one on the Fruits of the Spirit, Believing God - I probably can't even remember them all! We also did one recently by Kelly Minter about Nehemiah and that was a really good study, too. Very different - videos only about 20 minutes and most of the "meat" of the study was in homework.

Enjoy your study!

Love Beth Moore, look at Priscilla Shirer (Tony Evan's Daughter) and Christine Caine (from Hillsong) as well.

I second Priscilla. For some reason I find her more relatable than Beth Moore.

Just made a note! Thank you!

Oh yes, I have heard of that one! I think it was one of her earliest studies? I will look into it!

My favorite is Living Beyond Yourself. I did the online study with videos and for me it was life changing.

Living Beyond Yourself

Thank you! I've never heard of that study, but it looks wonderful and I would love something challenging.

She's great! I love her passion and how accessible she makes the Bible.

I have been to two Simulcast presentations but have always wanted to attend a live event! Unfortunately she doesn't have any scheduled in Canada this year but I am thinking it would make a great girls weekend road trip!

You know, I actually bought the MP3s of the Deuteronomy study over the summer, intending to listen to them during my work commute but completely forgot I downloaded them! Thank you so much for reminding me about that. I will add Kelly Minter to the list as well.

I have heard great things about Priscilla Shirer! She is added to the list! And I read Undaunted by Christine Caine over Christmas and loved it.:thumbsup2

Another vote for Priscilla-- I am very interested in her studies!

We did Falling in Love with Jesus by Kathy Triccoli and Dee Brestin a number of years ago -- it was very good -- DVD for the group and book for each person.

Thank you so much for the link! That study looks really affordable-- the studies can get so expensive. It has great reviews too!

Thank you so much, everyone! So great to have some "study buddies" on the DIS.:goodvibes I get so much out of our weekly study that I feel like I'm in withdrawal when we skip a week! I love the fellowship and sitting in that living room, drinking tea, chatting and learning is such a lifesaver. It is like a two hour vacation once a week.

I've done several. I loved Daniel. And A Woman's Heart, God's Dwelling Place. It was my first study, many years ago, and it was a lot of work--I'm not sure if it is as detailed, someone told me that she revised it. It was awesome though.

I've seen her live once. I went to Rupp Area in KY to see her. I'll be honest and say I wasn't wowed and did not go to Knoxville and see her the following year because of it. She said upfront that she did not know what her topic was going to be and, trust me, it showed. :( I thought she was all over the place. Plus, it was packed and I'm not a fan of being in that big of a crowd--day #2 was in the nosebleed section. ;)

But, I do love a good Beth Moore study!

I've just read (2x) Ann Voskamp's book One Thousand Gifts. I have to tell you, this book has changed my life. It wasn't anything I did not really know or have never been taught or read about before...I just was shown a different way of looking at all I am given, the good and the bad. My copy is so marked up, highlighted and tagged that I cannot share it with a friend. It's a short book but it is written very poetically and normally *that* and me would not mix. For some reason, the flow of this book, it works and worked for me.

I've done every one of Beth Moore's studies, except James and Deuteronomy. I'm working on Esther right now with my DD17. I've done other studies, but have not found one that came close to Beth's. I like the depth, and how she applies what you're studying to your life. I've done a couple of the names mentioned here, but I will certainly look at what ya'll have mentioned here.

our women's group at church did her "Living Well" series last year, and it was a BIG hit! we're starting "Undaunted" by Christine Caine on wednesday.

We just finished Stepping Up: A Journey Through the Psalms of Ascent by Beth Moore last week. I enjoyed it but now we are looking for a new study.
